Description TrueCare for Pets is a 24-hour animal emergency hospital, known for our clinical skills but remembered for how much we care. Previously known as Animal Emergency Centre, we have been serving the San Fernando Valley's pets and their families for over 30 years. In 2018, we expanded our hours to 24/7 for emergencies, and in 2022 added a certified Veterinary Radiation Oncologist Now we've added more specialty services including surgery overseen by a board-certified veterinary surgeon - with more to come. TrueCare for Pets is the practice that gives pet owners and referring veterinary partners access to a new level of creativity and innovation in the delivery of care and service.

The care, compassion, and communication from the vets, techs, and admin staff is unmatched. My dog was urgently transferred to TrueCare, after surgery at Kinder4Rescue, and they literally saved my dog's life. Not only did they jump in and start working on him immediately, they didn't rush me to make a decision. They worked with me and tried to do what they could to make the treatment plan as affordable as possible. Hopefully I'll never have another vet emergency, but if I do, I'll be back to TrueCare in a heartbeat! I will forever be grateful to Dr. Mitra and the entire team. Thank you all so much <3

I feel the need to write this review because I do believe TrueCare gets a bad rap due to the nature of it being an emergency care facility. I completely understand the distraught and trauma that every pet owner feels when they are rushing their beloved pet to the ER. We are already in a horrible state of mind and therefore, would be very hard for ANY 24 hour care place to adhere to our expectations. I'm writing this because my husband and I recently experienced this trauma. We rushed our 15 year old cat, Bella, to TrueCare and although the cost was VERY EXPENSIVE, they were attentive, communicative, kind and gave us all the information we requested at every step. When we knew that all hope was lost, we decided to bring our kitty home for one last night at home where she could snuggle comfortably with us. Without requesting this, they reimbursed us for a whole night stay in the ICU since we took her home early. Even though we were there until 10pm and had already paid for that night, they voluntarily gave us our money back for that night. The next day, we took Bella into the VCA, which was closer for us, to lay her to rest. I think the main thing to understand is that TrueCare is like going to the hospital or ICU. A vet is like going to the doctor's office. Of course TrueCare is going to be A LOT more expensive than a typical vet. Their staff is there 24 hours a day and we took that into consideration when paying the huge bill. But in an emergency situation, I would not take my pet anywhere else.

I had a terrible experience at this establishment and I do not recommend anyone to bring in their pet here unless you have the money for it. They will keep your dog hostage until you figure out a way to pay. You better hope Care Credit accepts you. They performed procedures I did not allow nor had any knowledge that they would even do. After emergency examination was performed by Trish Ogle she couldn’t even give me a proper diagnoses of my dog’s condition. Just informed me of the obvious and prescribed medication that didn’t even help my dog’s condition but made it worse. They even held my dog hostage until I came up with a way to pay. I went to another vet (VCA Chatoak Animal Hospital) who prescribed another medication that actually helped my dog. They didn’t even hold my dog hostage like True Care did and they helped me visually understand what was going on with my dog’s condition. They even showed me how to express my dog’s stool. If you do walk into True Care, proceed with caution. They are money hungry, be careful what you sign.

We cannot thank Dr. Koo enough for the exceptional care she provided to our beloved dog during a challenging time. Our dog isn't just a pet; he's our soul, so when he was diagnosed with lymphoma, we were devastated. Dr. Koo's communication was outstanding; she would call us to check in and always made time to answer our never-ending questions with patience and clarity. From our first visit, Dr. Koo showed remarkable patience, understanding, empathy, and profound knowledge. Her approach gave us hope and reassurance, making a difficult situation more manageable. We're grateful for Dr. Koo's expertise and compassionate care, which has made a significant difference in our dog's treatment and our peace of mind. oh and Orion was on point with assistance and support. He saw us upset in the lobby and asked if we needed anything. We really appreciated his demeanor and kindness as he was tending to another client. Thank you, Dr. Koo, and team for everything you do!

Dr. Lotatti and the entire staff was incredible to me and my dog during our time together. Dr. Lotatti was so accessible, honest, and kind. I can’t thank them enough for their help during this trying time. It sucks dogs don’t outlive us but I was assured knowing my dog was taken care of and received the proper care she deserved while she was sick

My cat suffered a dislodged blood clot that affected his hind legs and front leg. He was suffering in pain. (He had preexisting heart condition). The Veterinarian was very straight forward and explained to us what is going on with the cat. I appreciate his honesty, it is hard to find these days at vet clinics. The staff was very supportive and they cared. One staff member came in to speak with us and give us support after we said good bye to our fluffy boy. Thank you all at TrueCare for pets for your hard work and empathy.
