As I write this, my best pal sits on my shoulder. Thank you Stray Cat Alliance for helping me find this amazing creature. I adopted Suzy from SCA about 5 months ago. I met her at an adoption event and immediately was bewitched by her affectionate nature and haunting (but sweet) stare. Now I can’t imagine my life without her. Stray Cat Alliance saved Suzy, who was scheduled to be euthanized at a South LA shelter, when she was brought in with severe lesions on her neck and back. (The last picture is from her intake at the shelter.) They determined she had a non-contagious skin condition and rehabilitated her in the months before I adopted her. SCA’s vet performed multiple surgeries on her and consulted with dermatologists to figure out how to get her stable. It was a tough road; when I saw her medical history my jaw dropped. But they didn’t give up. They kept giving her love and care. When I adopted her, she was still recovering, and now with a quiet home and predictable routine, it’s remarkable how healthy she is. I cannot thank everyone at Stray Cat Alliance enough for sticking with this cat and giving her a second chance. Please give this organization a try, donate, adopt, and support their cause. They deeply care for the animals they serve and I’m so grateful for all the work they do.

Terrible customer service. I emailed them multiple times after finding out a neighbor gave her cat away to this shelter after moving out. I eventually decided to just go to the shelter. I wanted to bring the cat back around the other cats in the complex and give it a stable home. I work from home and the cat was originally an outdoor cat during the day. They denied me because I said that I’d allow him to go outdoors during the day as he’s done for years. I’ve known this cat for a while and sat it when the owner was out of town. The cat is 5 years old and has to stay in foster care instead of getting a stable home. I also found out that I had to get two cats on the spot. This was fine but it caught me off guard. Never thought that a shelter could be so picky but I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

They’re doing their best and I love my babies. But I’m the second person I know who adopted from here and got a sick cat. It costed me hundreds for an exam and meds when I feel like the shelter should’ve done it before or paid for it.

Got the best cats I could ever ask for from here about 3 years ago 😊 they were quick to respond, conducted a quick interview to make sure I had an adequate home for them and experience with cats. Can’t thank them enough for bringing these guys into our lives ❤️

We got our amazing Clyde from SCA. He was probably hit by a car, and had broken bones and still has some mild facial paralysis. We adopted him as an adult cat. He can play fetch, is the boss of our dogs, and generally is just the best cat ever. We love him completely. I love the purpose of SCA, and I love that my baby got a second chance so that we can spoil him forever.

DO NOT ever bring a stray cat to Stray Cat Alliance. I found a very ill cat and I nursed him back to health. His microchip was registered to Stray Cat Alliance so I took him there for additional treatment. They had him ONE DAY and they let him escape. Now he is wandering the streets of LA scared and alone. Take your kitty anywhere but here. Update 12/2023: I received an email a few months after I posted this informing me that they found Oreo! If true it's nothing short of a miracle. I really want it to be true.....
