Great people and great dogs. Come here first. A dog doesn't need to be a full breed with papers to be fantastic. All the best dogs our family has had have been rescues. Dogs don't live forever but they are gifts while they are with us and need to be protected and given good homes. Please adopt! The black and white puppy "May" in the photo I just posted is good with cats.
They were so nice and I was so worried about my dog. When I send the pictures of the dogs and how many there were. My heart sank. I just wish I was in a better position because I'd have taken a couple with me. But they do a great job the girls and everybody involved down there.
Sooo happy we rescued a dog! This is a city run shelter and there far too many dogs & cats that need homes - but the people there are saints and doing their best! When my husband went there it was clean and the people were all upbeat and helpful. Did the girl type my name in wrong ? Sure - but who cares?? We adopted a beautiful little pup and she had kennel cough when we got her. They acknowledged it and gave us all the meds we need to clear it up. Are some of the dogs sick ? Yes - but these are STRAYS or mistreated dogs by the dirt bags of the world. And they are GIVING these dogs away with all the shots they should have, spayed & neutered and microchipped. If you cant take responsibly for a dog once you get it - don’t get one PLEASE! Our little Layla below - we could not be happier with her !!
Excellent experience. So many that need a home. I was able to adopt Erin for free and will be picking her up this Thursdah
Everyone appreciates all the animals that have been saved, but why make a new building if resources and volunteers are already short? You don't need more mouths to feed if there isn't enough to feed them. When I get a dog it's going to be on a waived adoption fee day and I'll just buy some food to donate.
We recently moved to Tulsa from a rural area with two dogs. We were unfamiliar with the municipal licensing and spay/neuter ordinances so we headed to animal welfare for some info. Deb and Charlotte were super helpful. They answered all of our questions and got our license situation squared away. My wife greatly appreciated how warm and welcoming they were.
