The post would be a 5 star. But after taking the adopted dog, have to the vet, I found out it has Guardia. I think you follow up test after she had it in the Facility would have been warranted. Now I have to go through four hundred dollars worth of tests and medician to treat both of my dogs

My husband and I got our sweet Rodney a little over a year ago. When my black cat of 20 years passed, I wanted another black cat to fill the void my heart had. We came across Rodney by chance and he melted into my husband's arms and won my love immediately. One year and a few months later he is so loved and loves cuddling with us all the time. So grateful for this place! We love out little Hot Rod 🖤💛

I reported a dog that was abandoned. To my surprise, Long Beach Animal Care was very responsive; they even had him checked out by a veterinarian. I went to check up on the dog a few days later and he was well cared for and he looked so much better than when I found him. The staff was attentive and cheerful. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a dog or cat.

Worst place ever they should mention to you over their automated system. As they will do as they please to your dog without verbal/written consent as an owner, you don't have a choice basically. My dog was stolen last night and I found him in this place and they billed me for all these fees that I didn't ask for and on top of that their super rude. The Supervisor has no business etiquette or class she shouldnt be a Supervisor if she's gonna be ignorant and the front desk girl Pam is rude too they don't tell you nothing but they request ownership documents, on top of that they had my dog in the adoption area without even putting him on the side and wait for its owner to get him. Furthermore, a lady said she already wanted to adopt my dog and on top of that they gossip about other customers personally that's not very professional. They shouldn't vaccinate them with out their owners consent don't touch them within the 24 to 48 hour gap and if the owner does go you suggest to them they need all this treatment or shots. I take my dog to its own vet. They also put a chip on my dog without my consent and I already had a chip on his collar if these people took off my dog collar & threw it away that's another story they made me feel like, I don't care for my dog yet, I was their asap ppl don't bring ur dogs here they will do what they want to ur dog and charge you money , I don't think you should get charged for something you didn't ask for and for treatment you didn't ask for didn't get to thank the lady that helped pay for the charge she was an angel all because these 2 rude front desk girls made a horrible day , I'm grateful I got my dog back and will make sure to tell everyone .

I've reported stray dogs to this place through the emergency line and not once did they call me back or even come to get the dogs, knowing that it was near a school and children were out walking. They say "we'll send someone out as soon as possible, we don't have an ETA" obviously I try to be understanding as I know they could be overwhelmed but to never show or never call back to inquire on the animals whereabouts or if we still need assistance just shows that they have no intention of coming. And again I've called on separate occasions about different dogs, months apart and got the same result.

This was an exceptional experience in adoption. Excellent service & bonus, they had an animal behaviorist there to help answer questions about the dogs' personalities. I picked Jersey, now called Koda, a buff & black GSD female. She was a little fearful at first after being 5 months at the shelter, but her personality after a month is now quite joyful, playful & she loves her new life. She's a good guard dog too! They had her listed as a German Shepherd mix, but she looks very much 100%. I tested her with an Embark DNA & Health kit & she is 90.6% GSD & the balance being 9.4% Staffordshire & Pit Bull Terrier. She gets lots on complements on her demeanor & beauty. Please consider one of their dogs if you are adopting a new best friend. They do a fine job with the animals there. They had many GSDs to choose from too.
