Description Gulf Coast Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organization established as the first non-profit animal welfare organization in southwest Florida in 1947. Our shelter does not receive any federal, state, or county funding and no funding from the Humane Society of the United States or ASPCA. We rely solely on donations, grants, bequests and fundraising events to further our mission of caring for the neglected and abandoned pets of Southwest Florida. As a no-kill facility, the pets of the Gulf Coast Humane Society remain in our care until they find their forever home.

These people are wonderful. I recently lost my beloved previous dog, who was also my ESA; I needed a new good dog quickly for both regular emotional and acute psychiatric reasons. The Gulf Coast Humane Society answered the phone and were helpful when my sister called ahead for me. When I showed up, staff were friendly, understanding, and very patient. The dogs looked healthy and well-cared for and the staff clearly cared about them. I was worried that I would have to wait for days to adopt but the whole process was completed in about an hour. As you can see, I took home my new little man and he's been a perfect, loving companion since! I am eternally grateful to Gulf Coast Humane Society for bringing us together forever. ♥️

Adopted our two kittens here a little over a year ago, brother and sister, and they are thriving in their forever home! Truly the most loving and wonderful cats! Can definitely tell they were well cared for while there. So happy they are together. Highly recommend getting two so they have a playmate.

This place is absolutely amazing 🥹❤️ me and my fiance loved our experience here so much. Everyone here is so down to earth and lovely. Our adoption experience went beautifully and it was very enjoyable in every way. We adopted a black kitty named Snickers and she is the most precious little bean ever 🥺 everyone here was incredibly helpful and answered all our questions. I recommend this place! It was also so clean and spacious for all the adorable kitties! And it's comforting to know they are all in good hands. I wish I could adopt every kitty here and give them all a home☺️They also gave us treats and food for our new fur baby as well as a free pizza coupon as well. The lady also comforted me when I got emotional about a previous black cat we tried keeping, but it didn't work out so we had given them back to there previous owners but the cat didn't wanna go back and it left me broken hearted for a while. But the lady was so reassuring and nice and it honestly put my mind at ease. I don't remember her name sadly but she had a pretty red bow and lots of bracelets. Thank you so much for this amazing adoption experience.

The staff are amazing people. They genuinely care about their animals and want to website they go to the right home. We asked a ton of questions and they made sure to get us all the answers. When they announced our adoption over the radio, everyone was excited and came up to the front to wish farewell. It was truly a great experience. The facilities are well kept as well.

I had an absolutely amazing experience. Everyone was so nice. I even went to the vet that they have in Fort Myers was an easy experience. They really want to set you up for success. I love my new companion, and I couldn’t be happier. Really consider adopting and definitely give this place a look. Thanks to the staff and the donors that make this place possible it really is a Gem in town no wonder why they have been around for so long doing great things in the community!

I had my fur babies spayed and neutered here, I procrastinated for 3 1/2 years but they made me feel so good and reassured me that they would be fine. It was quick and it's day 5 today post surgery and they're doing great. Glad to finally get this over with. I would like to add that I have pet insurance through Bandfield and I still chose gulf coast because of the reviews and recommendations from so many others. I definitely made the right choice coming here.
