We adopted our Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd mix puppy in December everything went extremely well with Big Dog Rescue, they were always professional, courteous and kind. We are an older couple and we were trying to adopt a large dog and they were kind enough to take a chance on us and it has been a delightful experience. We were impressed with the adoption process and the seamless online and phone service provided. The experience was exceptional, very thorough with the online application and phone interaction was always very professional.

Was rejected on a pup w/ no reason given! We are the ideal family for adopting, yet no reason was given! I’ve fostered dog and have never NOT given a reason to someone who may not be the right fit. I think the people fostering have no idea how this is supposed to work…. Seeing as they never even did a house visit or really ever asked us questions to see if we were suited. Guess they just judged us as being unfit based on…..god only knows!

A dog got caught in my fence and when I let it loose I could see he needed water and food. As I was feeding him I called Big Dog Rescue. They were here within 30 minutes and I live way out Miccosukee. The gentleman who came to pick up the dog was very nice as I couldn't stop crying. Also when I called to check on the dog they were very helpful, answering all my questions about how the dog was doing. Awesome place with awesome people!!! I would have kept him but I already had 6 dogs and they were so understanding.

In the end they do place dogs, but working with these blue haired women who think that just because they have a dog they think they have a clue. For the sake of so many canines on death row, I decided to try again... they didn't even care enough to respond. Would not recommend, unless you wear earplugs so you don't have to hear their cackling...

I have called these guys three times. I'm interested in adopting one of their dogs. They do NOT return phone calls. I guess they're not interested in finding homes for their dogs.

Big dog rescue does great work with these animals. You'll not find a more caring group of people. Please consider a rescue before going to a pet store or breeder.
