Description At The Humane Society of Charlotte, our mission is to champion the well-being of companion animals & strengthen their bond with the people who know, love, & need them. Through Dog & Cat adoption and pet services, The Humane Society of Charlotte is working to improve our community by creating new, loving families, and building a world where there are no more homeless and unwanted animals. For every animal we can connect with a new family, another animal in need comes to HSC’s shelter. As a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the HSC relies on the generous support of animal lovers, grants, bequests, and fees for service. HSC is not affiliated with any other animal welfare organizations and we do not receive government funding.

My dog got spayed on Monday and we had a very pleasant experience with the Charlotte Humane Society. Very affordable. My puppy Maggie came out of her surgery happy! Thank you for taking care of my sweet pup!

I had the best experience adopting my 2 kitties from HSC this past week. I previously adopted a cat from there 15 years ago and it was great then, and it has only gotten better. All of the staff were fantastic, and so kind and helpful, and they take great care of the animals. They have everything from a clinic, to a cat cafe and retail shop for toys and items for your new furry friend(s). The adoption process is super easy and they give you lots of support during and after the process. Everyone should adopt their next best friend from HSC!

Greatest place in Charlotte for pet owners. From a cat cafe to a pet clinic you will find a lot options under the same roof. Fully bilingual (Spanish) staff. They are so kind and easy going the make the pets feel at ease. They also help you with things from food to toys definitely recommend this place 100%

Our recent visit to the Humane Society of Charlotte was a paws-itively awesome experience! The place was so clean and didn't have that typical animal shelter smell, which was a huge plus. The cat rooms were a blast, filled with toys, condos, and climbing structures for the kitties to have fun with. The staff was super friendly and helpful, answering all our questions about the cats. We're definitely thinking about adopting a furry friend soon! 😻

10/10 Would recommend this place to anyone looking to adopt. We adopted Zeke (formerly zap) from here and he is our best friend. The staff is always so knowledgeable and happy to help/ answer questions and the adoption process was smooth. Thank you for trusting us with him!

Excellent staff & facility. My wife & I visited several times to look at kittens & cats and on second visit purchased a 3 1/2 mo old kitten. Staff was most helpful & knowledgeable. Best to go on a Tuesday or later in the week. Cats are spayed/neutered on Mondays and become available on Tuesdays. New kittens go to foster care for several weeks of observation before returning to the Humane Society for shots & surgeries. Staff knew the kitten’s history. We received med summary, vaccination certificate, instructions for caring for the kitten and Hill’s food for kittens. Fun experience!
