Description At The Humane Society of Charlotte, our mission is to champion the well-being of companion animals & strengthen their bond with the people who know, love, & need them. Through Dog & Cat adoption and pet services, The Humane Society of Charlotte is working to improve our community by creating new, loving families, and building a world where there are no more homeless and unwanted animals. For every animal we can connect with a new family, another animal in need comes to HSC’s shelter. As a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the HSC relies on the generous support of animal lovers, grants, bequests, and fees for service. HSC is not affiliated with any other animal welfare organizations and we do not receive government funding.

I'm never one to leave reviews, but after my experience yesterday, I had to leave one for this amazing establishment. From the moment me and my partner walked in, to the time we walked out with our new fur baby, I did not stop smiling once. The staff was extremely welcoming and nice, as well as guided us to where we wanted to go. When we had questions, there was no hesitation in answering them. When we found our match and were ready to adopt, they provided us with an amazing adoption specialist as well as made the adoption process smooth and simple. We came in nervous but walked out with the most amazing addition to our family. A big thank you to the Humane Society of Charlotte for everything that they do!

We adopted Maggie on November 6. She is the best dog ever. She gets along with my poodle and our 15 year old lab. She is very beautiful and well behaved. Wow what a jewel that is a wonderful part of our family. We love her so much. Thank you so much humane society and wbtv for bringing us our wonderful angel. She is just perfect. God bless you all!!!

I used to enjoy bringing my son here to interact with the animals but now they don't allow playing with the dogs unless you're adopting. However playing with the cats is still allowed. I like that they encourage reading to the pets. Great activity for a leisurely outing.

My dog got spayed on Monday and we had a very pleasant experience with the Charlotte Humane Society. Very affordable. My puppy Maggie came out of her surgery happy! Thank you for taking care of my sweet pup!

I had the best experience adopting my 2 kitties from HSC this past week. I previously adopted a cat from there 15 years ago and it was great then, and it has only gotten better. All of the staff were fantastic, and so kind and helpful, and they take great care of the animals. They have everything from a clinic, to a cat cafe and retail shop for toys and items for your new furry friend(s). The adoption process is super easy and they give you lots of support during and after the process. Everyone should adopt their next best friend from HSC!

I took my puppy here for her vaccination and wellness visit, the staff was so friendly and welcoming, they explained everything in detail which was great! My puppy is only a few weeks old and came out of her shots feeling good. The costs are also affordable especially for those on a budget!
