Description Here at Aspen Valley Karelian Bear Dogs. We specialize in uniting very special Karelian Bear Dog puppies with loving, responsible owners. We raise striking Black & White Karelian Bear Dog puppies that are born in a loving family which includes kids, cats, horses, and other dogs. They are high quality, well socialized, with excellent temperaments. They are a mid-sized dog, with great courage, stamina, and hunting instincts; used by the National Forest Service for protection. In the U.S. Karelian Bear Dogs are primarily used to protect their masters from predatory animals, such as cougars and bears, and will fight to their death to protect their master. These are working dogs, yet gentle and reliable, even with small children.

The puppy we received from Aspen Valley has an ectopic ureter, which causes urinary incontinence. Surgery is very expensive and when we reached out to Aspen Valley for help with vet bills they said we should put her down and they’d give us a new puppy. We would never do that. Part of the reason we reached out and informed them is because this is a hereditary issue. So heads up, if you get a dog from here it may be incontinent its whole life. We love our dog so much, but are very disappointed with the experience we had here. Previous reviews left on Facebook were deleted.

I've had Misha for 3 years. She's been a wonderful dog and my best friend. She's not a dog for inexperience dog owners very head strong. Very independent . She bonds to one person. This wonderful animal can not be a house dog. It has to be able to run in the woods and get plenty of exercise.
