We do not provide animals to any entity for research purposes.

I fostered then adopted a kitten from CAAWS this summer and couldn't have had a better experience! The volunteers were communicative and made sure I had everything I needed during the foster process, and they continued to check in on me even after I officially adopted my girl. Highly recommend!

We adopted our puppy, Neut from here. The ladies that work here are awesome, very caring and have been very helpful throughout this whole process

A great place to get a great pet from great folks, Kitsune is a joie de vie! She has been with us for a year now. She is such a great dog! Thank you CAAWS.

The adoption process was thorough insuring that the pets and the the adopting family were a good match. It worked well for us, Rudy has been a great addition to our home.

Friendly front desk staff. Very nice facility. Periodically has food giveaways. No adoption discounts, however, for senior citizens. And no restrictions on prospective adopters as to the needs of a particular dog. So, if a large dog or of a certain, wandering breed, CAA does not ask or screen whether the interested person has a fenced yard or ability to properly monitor outside time. That is not proper and is unsafe for the dog.

We just adopted our first dog recently, and we started with CAAWS because we have attended their parade downtown (Krewe of Mutts) a number of times and felt they could be the right organization for us. We were not disappointed! On the first visit, I was able to interact with a number of dogs outside their kennels (petting, playing, holding) and ask questions at will. The folks here also take the time to get to know you, and they soon wanted the rest of my family to come up and interact with the available dogs to see how the children would do. That's a pretty important thing so there are no ugly surprises later when a seemingly perfect match doesn't work out due to the dog simply not trusting/tolerating children. Fortunately, our little pup seemed to love the attention and the kids were all over him. From that point, we applied for adoption and completed a long application which essentially asks you to describe living conditions, expected attention, etc. It was clear that they really, really care about where their dogs (and cats) are going. This impressed us as well. Upon approval, a sweet volunteer delivered him to us personally with a leash and supply of food, and then stayed to answer all questions. All in all a very warm and caring experience! They do not keep a ton of animals on site (maybe 10-12 dogs?), but they introduce new ones frequently and they are all about quality of care. Strongly recommend this group - they feel like family now :)
