This place is terrible and has caused me great pain in my life, everyday, since they gave my bestfriend away, back in 2021. Back then I was working quite a bit, as I had no other means of making a living. With me working so much i left my dog Paco, in the care of my brother, who could care for him better than i could. Everything was going good until one day paco had discovered/devised a secret exit point from my brothers backyard. Unbeknownst to any of us, Paco being the adventurer he is, went off exploring around the neighborhood, and of course got picked up by the pound. Right at the time when all this happened, i didnt have a phone or means of communication, so i didnt hear about any of this until i went to check on my little buddy. As soon as i found out, i went up to the animal shelter (2 days after paco was picked up) only to find out that they had neutered and sold my bestfriend. PLEASE IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW HAS SEEN THIS DOG I WOULD AT LEAST LIKE TO SEE HIM AS HE WAS MY ONLY TRUE BESTFRIEND
Best dog shelter hands down! It was clean the staff was friendly very patient with us. My brother got the husky blue from them. He’s the best dog ever loves cuddles great temperament sweetest boy and so gentle with everyone, And we decided he needed a friend and found the small one at another shelter and now they are two peas in a pod and do everything together. So I would like to thank you guys for giving us our furry friend and making the whole experience so wonderful! With out you guys we wouldn’t have our pups.
The Hurst Shelter is beautiful! It was my goal on that day to adopt a senior cat. The people were nice and very helpful. And, I left there with my new fur baby Frida. They have many animals looking for their furever homes! Including a senior dog that is practically maintenance free but has been passed over so many times!!
We had a stray young cat, that had given birth to 3 kittens in our storage closet. Hurst Animal services (Cassima) came to get them, they were very compassionate & knowledgeable, she found homes for all of the kittens & the mother
Idk who the lady was but whoever was on the phone on 5/21/2024 around 12-1pm the lady I spoke to just gave me attitude for no reason. I didn’t give her attitude and idk why she decided to yell at me for a simple question about a stray. Sorry I meant feral cat cause there is no such thing as a stray cat. If you do not like talking on the phone do not work here who knows how you act around animals with this attitude towards me. This isn’t the first time someone from here just had bad attitude.
The staff I encountered were courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. We only viewed the cat section on this day. Every individual cat cubby was clean and had water, litter, a blanket, and an upper shelf. The cats inside did not look stressed. The facility was clean and had several workers attending to the animals in different sections. The new facility is pretty, very functional, and laid out well for visitors and employees. Although I did not visit the dog park, I drove by slowly. It is a large park with three fenced partitions to separate the large, medium & small dogs. I know my dogs would have a great time there!
