Great place to go if you have found an injured or disabled waterfowl or Crane or even a Raptor. Call the TPWL Game warden first and let them collect the bird. Don't risk it.

My daughter and I found a tiny bird that was in distress and they were quick to the rescue. Super sweet and nice answered a bunch of questions and made my little girl feel better about the hurt bird.

I have been involved with Wings Rescue for a couple of years. I had originally called the Corpus Christi Texas bird rescue after we found a nestling in our yard. They advised me we had a bird rescue in Rockport Texas. I was very pleased and immediately contacted WINGS.Rescue Center. Very soon afterwards, someone from WINGS Rescue came to pick up the nestling. The facility is great; all the volunteers work together to build and maintain housings for Ducks, Great Herons, Woodpeckers, Kingbirds, Grebes, Hawks, Cranes, Doves and many other species. Also several people are trained and authorized to doctor any bird needing medical assistance.

Called this rescue center after rehabbing a whitewing dove that we rescued from our pool. She had pneumonia and a broken wing. Took her to vet, Roger Piggot in Corpus for medication and wing setting. After she healed, the vet suggested she not be released because the wing just wasn’t as strong as before. The dispatcher at wings of Rockport took the time to call many of her contacts and found us a permanent home for the dove. She now lives with a fellow bird lover / retired Rehabber in a large outdoor aviary under beautiful shade trees. She also has a male that comes to visit her everyday. Thank you dispatcher, I believe her name was Diane, for your generous support and time to find our dove a home!

This is a place like no other! The experience, that one can receive from volunteering here can not be beat. The individuals that devote their time in making sure that the birds that have been injured, from Dispatch, rescuers, to the staff at the location; all put their hear and soul into making sure the magnificent creatures are nurtured back to health!

I've called them several times in the past year and they've always been willing to help me with either injured or fledgling birds that I've found. Very caring and compassionate staff.
