Thank you for Millie!(aka Astra, name changed). We got her from you back in April at Rockport market days. We weren't even looking for a dog. She had been at your shelter for months, so I was worried she might have issues. She has been the best girl! Healthy and happy she was obviously cared for at the shelter. Adoption process was easy. She is living her best life in Michigan which is good because she hates being hot! I tease that she was drawn to me because she saw the northern license plates! Thanks for all you do!
I love you guys and y'all have helped with the pup nextdoor to me. However I'm not sure if you checked up on the pup a second time ? I had reported to y'all that the pup was on a very short leash( chain) it kept getting stuck around the tree and the owners could careless ! I also reported that the pup had an eye infection at the time. It has been three or four months maybe even longer since I had seen the pup . Today before leaving I went to say bye to the pup and he now appears to be blind ! The same eye with the infection ! Please help him.
I have tried contacting them since March of this yr about a female stray that was dropped off on my st. The dog ended up in heat and had 9 puppies. Fortunately, we were able to find the puppies a home. Today they finally took the dog after I had to surrender it to them & pay $10 after making numerous calls so this dog wouldn’t end up pregnant AGAIN and just have the same cycle repeat, even though it wasn’t mine. I know they’re probably at full capacity but it would help if they were to start fining ppl for not having their animals spayed/neutered if they are kept outside and free to roam. Maybe that would make pet owners become more responsible.
We adopted our 1st baby from Aransas County in March and are in the process of adopting our 2nd (and final) baby from them. They have gone above and beyond to assist us in giving these babies a forever home! We will forever be grateful!🥰🥰
Staff was very nice. I brought home a Staffi named Wolfie.
This office not take our report of an unlawful restraint of a dog seriously, even though we provided specific laws that the owners of this dog have broken, including: Leaving a dog outside and unattended by use of a restraint that unreasonably limits the dog's movement: (1) between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. (dog is tied up 24 hours a day) (2) in the case of extreme weather conditions - including a time period when the actual or effective outdoor temperature was below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (dog was tied up last week during a freeze warning/wind advisory) (3) on a leash that is not five times the length of the dog, as measured from the tip of the dog's nose to the base of the dog's tail; (longer than 10 feet) We were told that the owners were not breaking any laws, even though they were doing all of the above. We were told nothing could be done, and that it was fine that the dog had to resort to digging a hole to crouch in just to get out of the cold wind. SHAME on this office.
