Thank you for taking in the little grackle with a ton of personality that I found injured at my house. No matter the outcome I know he's being treated with care and dignity. Thank you for all you do for our avian friends.
Avian Wildlife is a godsend. I am 37 years old and my first experience with them was over 30 years ago. I remember seeing "the bird lady" come into my second grade classroom. It was amazing and she left such an impression that 10 years later finding my first injured bird, I couldn't Google what to do, but I did remember back to my second grade experience. I found them in time and have not looked back since. I'll never be able to thank this selfless couple/organization as much as they deserve. It makes me feel great knowing I gave the birds the best possible chance. With people that have been educating the community, working tireless hours, and saving as many lives as possible.
Giselle and The Avian Wildlife Center are truly amazing! I’ve been bringing birds here for over 20 years, starting with tons of chimney swifts, then a tiny kestrel with a broken leg, that didn’t even have its eyes open yet. It was an incredible thrill to be there for the release many months later after Giselle set its leg, and nursed it to maturity! Thank you so much Avian Wildlife Center for ALL you do! ❤️🙏🏻🦅🦉🦆🐥🦃🕊️🪶🪹🪺
Found a little blue jay. Its wing appeared injured after it fell from its nest. I called the Wildlife center and they answered right away. I brought it right over and filled out some paper work. Followed up about its health by referencing the record number they gave me in the paperwork and were told the little bird was doing well.
She was so helpful. We brought her a wounded owl and she found a vet to aid the beautiful creature. Truly beautiful human beings, a privilege to meet them.
Recently I had a sparrow crash into my kitchen window and seriously injured him/her self. It was breathing and trying to move so I isolated it in a box and kept him comfortable hoping the shock would subside and he’d fly away. After 24 hours he was still struggling a bit so I packed him up and took him to the Avian Wildlife Center. It was a long drive for me, one hour, but well worth it. I was greeted at the door by Giselle, who I could immediately see was very experienced with birds. She took the sparrow in and described in detail what her approach would be in trying to get it back on its feet. She gave us a quick education on what we could do around the house to prevent future bird/window strikes. It was a really good experience and I thank her for being there. Yes it was a long ride, but I am not the type to watch any animal suffer needlessly, not as long as there are people like Giselle around.
