Description We are experiencing an increased case load. To allow time for a high standard of care for each individual patient, we are implementing pause – intervals in the intake of stable emergency patients. Your pet will be triaged and assigned a level of urgency based off clinical parameters and doctor assessment and unstable or critical patients will be prioritized. If your pet is suffering from a non-urgent issue, there will be extended wait times during these intervals. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and patience. Each VCA hospital has health and safety protocols in place based on health care best practices as well as state and local guidance and regulations.
I cannot express my appreciation enough to VCA emergency care. I had been trying to trap a feral to take to my general vet for care and neuter but he had evaded my efforts. I noted on Sunday morning that he appeared injured so I called several emergency locations, however this is one that was recommended by my vet and closest to my home. I was fortunately able to trap him and took in. Everyone from Megan who took my initial call to Kim to did his intake to all the staff, who were so calm and took care of him quickly. A big thank you to Dr. Moussa for her compassion and offering to neuter him, although it usually isn't done in an emergency visit because she was going to have to sedate him anyway. I was literally in tears since I knew this poor guy was going to finally get care. It is still a long road for him but he is now safe, treated and neutered!! Thank you so much. I highly recommend for emergency are. The facility is close to the freeway, very clean with great staff.
I’m not the kind of person to leave a review, much less a review when my Dad, Brother and I just had to put down our 14 year old German shepherd, Emma. We came in after our normal vet was closed and decided to take a chance on a place nearby we’ve never heard of. The staff was loving and compassionate and the doctor explained every step of the process. Each detail down to the emphasis of “no rush”, and the kindness and empathy shown to my family and I in one of our most difficult moments was amazing. Thank you for your warm and compassionate attitude. Great place.
My dog got diagnosed with cancer at 11 years of age right behind his ribcage during the pandemic. The docs and nurses here were so nice, explained everything to me, walked me through all diagnostics and the surgery, and gave him adequate pain meds post surgery. Our experience here was so lovely. my dog is 14 now, and you'd never suspect he's gone through so much! He's extremely healthy, I can't thank VCA enough for their care
I'm giving two stars due to the lack of empathy we experienced when our dog passed away. First of all, the system is frustrating. It's hard to get appointments anywhere with Speciality centers. It took three weeks to diagnose my dog with cancer and another week to get an appointment, but I will say VCA is better at scheduling. We went through radiation therapy successfully, but the cancer returned, so we opted for chemotherapy. Within the first week, my dog lost 10 pounds, and I realized there was nothing more we could do. Despite this, they convinced me to buy another week's worth of medicine, which I never used because I had to let my baby go the following week. Cancer is infuriating—it destroys a loving body, and we had to endure this painful journey. In the end, my dog lost all balance in his legs, and no one could figure out why. It was heartbreaking. After I informed the hospital about my decision, they called me a few days later to confirm if I would still be making the appointment. This showed a lack of listening and understanding. I had to write this review once I felt stable enough. However, I would like to thank the radiation therapy department for taking excellent care of my baby in the beginning.
Dr. Llamas, Peggy, Liv, and the entire team provided extraordinary care for our Maltipoo, Zeus, who lived just shy of 15 years. Their dedication and compassion made all the difference during his battle with cardiac heart failure. They went above and beyond to ensure Zeus was comfortable, from nail clipping to grooming him in his final days. Their support with treatments and finances was immensely helpful. Zeus passed away peacefully at home on June 14, surrounded by loved ones. Our 4-year-old daughter thinks Zeus is now in "Kevin," happily playing, free from pain. This sweet belief brings us comfort. The team's work has deeply touched our lives. We recommend them a million times over and are profoundly grateful for the cherished moments they gave us with Zeus.
I wanted to express my appreciation to all VCA emergency care staff, I have to put down my 16 year old dog, and after calling several places, and not happy with their rude answers, I finally called VCA and Noe was very nice, answered all my questions; we decided to take it there. ALL of them were very compassionate and, that helped us going through this difficult time. Thanks AGAIN! I highly recommend this place.
