I rescued an anxious stray kitten who needed a lot taken care of! I had a great experience with Cybil. I could gush about her for awhile, because she was so good with the kitten, and kind! She definitely has a natural affinity for animals. She explained everything they were doing in clear details that I could understand. (I’m a first time cat owner, so it was a process) She patiently went over the bill with me, and made sure we w fully comprehended what we were paying for and why. The doctor was efficient and thorough. I felt confident in my cats future health after the visit. I want to mention that it’s more expensive than some of the other vets in the area, but they do put in some extra effort. I believe it’s worth it for certain services! But up to the consumer. •Some negative (hopefully constructive) feedback• -I’ve called and gotten some serious attitude from the front desk lady. (Over the phone) & previously, she was rude to my mom and hung up on her. I’m also reading about other peoples issues with this lady..normally, I would chalk it up to, service work is draining and she’s having an off day, but sounds like it’s becoming more problematic. I don’t know what’s going on, but it’s difficult to receive care for your cat when you’re being met with resistance. But if you can get through that, the other parts of the practice are great!

Misdiagnosed a spayed cat for an unspayed one. Seems kinda simple seeing as she had a tattoo to prove it. When we called to notify them the receptionist was beyond rude, offered no apology and basically told us to kick rocks. We even asked if we could speak with the Vet himself and were flat out told ‘no’. I don’t generally leave bad reviews but the owner needs to know that his front line staff will cause issues if patient retention is what he hopes to build his business on. Also, there should be a way to leave feedback that isn’t directly intercepted by the person that is causing the issues.

After having some sub-par experiences at another vet clinic in Athens, I cannot say enough good things about Athens Vet Clinic. Dr. Aanestad and his staff have been nothing but kind and caring since our first visit and it’s clear that they genuinely want the best for their patients. They show so much care for our cats, especially for our 12 year old, who can be a little feisty to say the least, but Dr. A. treats her the way we want her to be treated. We trust him to make the best decisions for our pets and we will be making this our primary vet clinic in Athens.

The vet took great care of my mostly outdoor cat who had been attacked and needed checked out. I only wish they had given me a more conservative estimate of how long it might take before he would be healed up enough to go outside so that I would have been better prepared emotionally and mentally about making him stay inside that long. Healing time took almost twice as long, even though he was kept inside and always in the cone except under close observation. Other than that, my experience with the facility and its staff was excellent.

Dr. Aanistead and his staff are awesome and really care about your pets. They are reasonably priced especially considering the prices in Columbus.

The Staff Here Helped Us Get My Baby Rebel Up To Date On His Shots & Diagnosed Him With Something No Other Vet Could See. They Were Wonderful With Explaining Everything To Me That Needed Done & What Could Wait. Also Were Thorough & Upfront About What Everything Would Cost Before Doing Anything. Our First Choice Vet No Matter What..
