It is very helpful to have people that do this on Oahu as we have a big problem. I have used them several times to help out the stray cats we feed. I would say the surgery went better for the male cats than females. Females took a long time to recover. They were recommended to us from our neighbors. Also our neighbors warned us about a girl called Taylor. Yep they were right.. every time i would come and greet her ask her questions, she would never say hello but if you repeat yourself then she will say it back. Rude and unprofessional. No Aloha. It seems to me she possibly just moved to the islands. Maybe.. She also interrupted my conversation with another lady there to tell us her input. I do not see her fit to work for such a great organization. Ahh it is so easy to be nice and kind i wish people put more effort to make this world a better place for us all. Aloha

This is my first time using CatFriends TNR program. I was a little worried since the last post didn't give very favorable reviews. My experience was nice considering everyone involved is volunteering their time to do this. So we first arrived the day before our appointment because we couldn't figure out where in Kunia they are located and I wanted to ask them questions and left plenty of messages and haven't gotten any call backs. When we arrived it looked like an empty warehouse that you would typically find on AG land. I believe its pass the Kohana Rum place. Any way it was empty so we thought oh maybe its not a legit place. Fortunately there was a security lady that we talked to who confirmed that CatFriends exists and she was able to give us insight on the place. She explains that Cat Friends are not at the site every day because the people who run it are volunteers that have separate jobs. She says when they do come, they have people all bringing cats all stacked up in their cages. Which may explain why they want specific type of humane trap. Later that night I finally did receive a text back giving me answers to my questions one of them being that if it was ok to bring the cat in while in heat in which the reply was "yes" Any how, my husband dropped off the cat and he said they were very friendly, he could tell that they cared about the cats. We dropped off the cat at 11 AM, then picked it up at 5. Our cat was a female cat. We kept her at our home for 24 hrs to make sure she was healing, she got a fever for about 8 hours but she managed to pull through so I would recommend to keep the newly spade or neuter cat confined for 24 hours just to keep them out of the cold and to heal in peace. I hope that this experience can help people to do their part and get these cat into the TNR program. If the strays are kittens, just drop them off at humane society but if they are grown or feral like wild, cat friends is perfect for the job. I'm personally grateful that they are here to help the community It is not an easy task and I'm looking forward to using this place again in the near future seeing how I'm going to help my neighbor gather 5 strays on our street to get them fixed before it gets out of hand.

Female cats died. I appreciate the service they offer but upon following their instructions, the female feral cats that were fixed had died due to open stitches and subsequent infection. It was impossible to recapture these cats until it was very late and was able to be put down at the humane society. No animal deserves to suffer.

They did an excellent job for the cat mom we found in our parking lot. She recovered from the surgery the next day. And it is totally free. Many thanks!

Thank God this place is here. There are so many cats in this area, that need TNR, and to keep the trauma at a minimum for the scared little cats, being close to Sand Island, Keehi Boat Harbor, and right there in the front and backyard of this building, is a huge bonus. It would be nice though if there were a Vet Clinic, or some other services to help the cats, there as well.
