I was on the hunt hard for about two weeks for my Furry friend and just so happened to get out to the Person county animal shelter kind of on a whim because it was a decently long drive from where I live. I had visited and seen about 5-6 other shelters, foster homes, sanctuaries but none of them could compare to this one as far as love and care for the animals within the facility AND customer service! I was able to find a dog that I connected with and knew I couldn’t live without and I hadn’t experienced that feeling during my search until PCAS. The management here picked up on that almost right away! There are lots of amazing dogs here and they are very well taken care of as well! I recommend go checking this place out, be patient as it is a business and put the dog or dogs first. Ultimately it is about them anyway! Thank you Person county management for your continuous love and care for my newly adopted dog and all the dogs you tend to!

I found this dog outside my camper on 06/22 morning, and I brought her to the person county animal shelter, if anyone knows any information about this dog please contact the shelter. She is chipped and from Colorado, named Abby. Hopefully she will find her family, super cute puppy

My dog's rabies vaccine was about to expire and I couldn't coordinate my schedule with the rabies clinics in the area. I called the animal shelter and they told me they could give her a one year vaccine. We showed up the next morning and within 15 minutes the vaccine was given and we were on the way home. The staff was friendly and helpful both on the phone and in the shelter

When you go to the animal shelter to get a animal, they are supposed to be tested to make sure they’re not sick before they leave well upon us getting the dog she was sick.

I dont even wanna give them a star because they don't deserve it. I will never deal with this place again, they don't wanna do their jobs. They just sound heartless over the phone about baby stray hurt animals that you find and wanna help them even though you can't keep them. Within 5 minutes of dropping a month old kitten off it was euthanized, because they said "it was to far gone to help" and I know in my heart something could have been done to help that little one out. Just avoid this place.

My crazy Beagle went out hunting and ultimately wound up across the highway at the store. They knew he was mine but lost my number. So to keep him safe he wound up in puppy jail overnight. Several persons tried to claim him. The staff there were great. Very professional and helpful. They ensured all others he was not theirs and his owner was on the way. Needless to say he doesn't go there anymore!
