We adopted our sweet Vinnie, June 2020 when the shelters were filled with kittens. after taking him home, he grew to love our other cats and us. A week or two after we got him we noticed he had fleas which ran through our home and other cats. We dealt with it, and I am rating five stars because our time with him so far has been magical.
I drove from Greenville, SC to adopt a 6mo tiny Jack Russell (Martini) this past Fri, and the experience was amazing! I'd been searching for a pup for months, but wasn't having any luck. Then, through the Adopt-A-Pet email, I discovered Barrow and reached out to Kaylon for help. She went above and beyond to help me find our next family member. The facility is nice and clean. The staff are professional, and it's obvious they care about the animals. I'm telling family and friends it's worth the drive to adopt from Barrow.
I understand that they are doing the best they can which is why I gave 3 stars, but my experience wasn’t the best. After I searched the website for available cats, I called to confirm if the cats I saw were at that location; they told me yes. I drove 2 hours to get there. I did 3 applications for each cat I was interested in, but then they told me that the cats I were interested in were at PetSmart and not at the shelter. After viewing the cats they had at the shelter, I asked if I could hold one. They told me they were busy at the moment and unsure of when an attendant would be available to assist me. I then asked which PetSmart were the other cats at, but they just said Duluth. I went to two PetSmarts but didn’t see the cats. They called me two days later and asked was I still interested in adopting but I declined because I’m not driving all the way out there again after they weren’t that friendly to begin with and by that time I pre-adopted the kitty that I have now.
One of the lady workers told us last night that we need to have a fence something gated for my goat and she bothered us around 839 midnight calling us on the phone while we were busy having family time I’m going food shopping so we did what she wanted us to do today and they still came and took my go away. Unacceptable liars, they make you do things and spend your money for no reason we have a lot of Karen and our neighborhood everybody take care of your pets and hide them
I took a stray cat in we found while waiting on a tow truck. He was very skinny , sick and beat up. Obviously had been on his own for a while. It took me about 4 days to get him. Matthew at the front desk was very kind, patient and knowledgeable with this sweet kitty over the phone for 4 days and in person when we brought him in. I was confident leaving him there knowing he was in good hands.
love the people who work hard there to get these babies adopted. And all the others. thank you for caring
