Description "Resilient Hearts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal rescue. We rescue animals from around the country and help them find their forever families in the PNW."
In August 2021 Resilient Hearts introduced me to the love of my life. My companion was the runt of the litter and poorly socialized. They worked hard to make sure he found a new home after his first foster fail, and he landed in my lap. After I adopted my boy we stayed in touch for a play date and I continued to receive great advice and feedback on taking care of my dog. Resilient Hearts is run by folks who truly love animals. It's amazing to see the monthly adoption newsletter with all those smiling happy dogs and cats they've been able to house! Thank you for everything!
Really wonderful place, the people who work and volunteer here are doing amazing work. The kitten fostering program is maybe a work in progress, from my understanding, communication could have been better, but they’re it seems they’re working on it, really committed and doing so much for the community. I hope they know how much it is appreciated! Overall I was happy to be a tiny part of it.
I'm so thankful I worked with RHAS to adopt my pup. I appreciate that they don't require a fenced back yard like many rescues since I live in an apt. They have an amazing network of fosters so most of the dogs get to stay with fosters instead of being sheltered. They are very intentional about socializing the dogs and have flexible foster-to-adopt options. I told them what I was looking for and they matched me with my sweet girl who is perfect for me. They supported me and answered all of my (very annoying) questions throughout the process. I wish more rescues followed they same model as they do because they do a great job taking care of the pups and supporting the adoptions.
I had the best first experience at Resilient Heart Animal Sanctuary! The operation is incredibly organized, and the staff, volunteers and visitors were welcoming and friendly. The team provided tons of helpful information and various ways to get involved and support the sanctuary. I highly recommend visiting if you love animals and want to contribute to a great cause—or just want to enjoy some puppy time!
I encountered Resilient Hearts through their puppy yoga program (which I highly recommend for interacting with a lot of cute pups!). My husband and I decided we wanted to try fostering and Mike was able to help us with fostering a puppy. They were really helpful in making sure we are comfortable with the pup we took home, making sure you were sent home with enough food and whatever supplies you need, and you can tell how much they care for all of the dogs. I haven’t really seen any other shelter/sanctuary socialize their pups and much as Resilient Hearts does, having business hours for people to visit and play with puppies and even offering short-term foster options such as coffee dates or hikes. It’s really such a great way to socialize pups and get them used to various people and surroundings. We had to bring our little foster back after a week (and she was such a wonderful pup to be with), but I know for sure that I will likely foster more or adopt a pup from them in the future.
You can go in at scheduled times and play with or pet puppies for a puppy fix or you can sign up to foster or adopt. Staff and volunteers make you feel welcome and puppies are adorable
