Description We are open for Public Tours on Saturdays from April-November. We are open for Private Tours year-round BY RESERVATION ONLY. ALL TOUR TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE. NO DROP-IN VISITS OF ANY KIND ARE PERMITTED. This is to ensure the safety of our rescued animals as well as our guests & staff members. Founded in 2001, Catskill Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit, 148-acre refuge in New York's Hudson Valley. We provide a home to ten species of rescued farmed animals with between 200 and 400 residents at any given time. In addition to direct animal aid, the Sanctuary offers on-site tours and educational programs that advocate veganism as the very best way to end animal suffering, improve human health, and heal an ailing planet.

we got a private tour here. the staff were very friendly. the gift shop is super cute. we saw lots of animals and were able to get up close with a few and pet them. animals were well cared for and really respected. they have a great emphasis on education. I can't wait to see what they do when they move to a bigger and better place.

Best tour with animals I have ever been on. I went with my two toddlers and family. We were a group of 11 people and it was great. The owner, Cathy, gave us the tour and she was so passionate and kind. She was great with our kids and she said such kind words to us. The best part about it was you know these animals were cared for and deeply happy with their situation unlike most places you go to see animals. If you can go you should but if you can only donate you absolutely should. Seriously an incredible experience and we intend to go back.

My husband and I had the best time visiting the Catskill Animal Sanctuary. Our tour guide, Kaden, did a great job of explaining the journey of countless animals and how they came to the sanctuary. Each employee was so passionate about their mission. The animals were clearly loved and well cared for. We left the sanctuary uplifted and thankful that such a wonderful place exists! Until the next time ❤️

We had an incredible tour here with Sara. We had five children along and she was so patient, moving at the kids' pace and making it so special for everyone. We felt like we got to know each animal.

This place is a lovely retreat from daily life. The tour guides are all very friendly and knowledgeable. The area is clean and comfortable to be in. They have a myriad of farm animals, all rescued from different circumstances. The cows and goats are definitely the highlight of the day. We got to meet and befriend quite a few hoofed friends. They do a great job in providing medical care and meeting all the specific needs of the animals on a daily basis. The education and experience of coming here is well worth the trip.

Beautiful animal sanctuary with fun, caring people taking care of the animals. We loved our visit and would absolutely come again! Hanging out with the goats, horses, cows, chickens, and sheep was very therapeutic and wonderful.
