Description The Humane Society of the North Bay is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that was established in 1986 to offer shelter and adoption services for homeless animals. We were formerly known as the Benicia-Vallejo Humane Society. We are a no-kill shelter. For nearly four decades we have found permanent homes for thousands of homeless cats and dogs. HSNB has witnessed many joyous reunions.

This organization is doing wonderful work. We had a great experience adopting a dog here just recently. The process was easy. The animals here are treated with love and respect. Our dog had been neutered, vaccinated, and treated with flea & tick medication prior to adoption. Would recommend coming to their open house events to find your next pet.
I am so grateful for your friendly atmosphere that your facility provides. It has been difficult lately, I lost my job six months ago, my husband's workplace has been cutting hours, and my former employer has appealed my receiving unemployment benefits twice in the past five months. Thank goodness that after the last hearing two weeks ago, the judge ruled in my favor, rejecting their defense arguments. It has been hard to feed our dogs, let alone ourselves. I have been looking for another job, but I'm sure that I have received negative comments from my previous employer to other companies requesting a review about my work history. What they said that I did was proven false, but the damage has already been done.
While the facility lacks in looks and many needed functions for the animals, the staff and volunteers more than make up for it with their positive attitudes, their love for the animals, and their extra steps to try and ensure good matches for the human and animal.
This is a great no kill shelter. Staffed with Teams of caring, competent, and knowledgeable folks. They were so helpful with me as I was navigating the process to surrender my pet. The facilities and animals seemed to be well cared for. I totally recommend this location for information about your pet concerns. It was especially nice that it's right here in Vallejo. ππ½ππ½
This place is struggling they need a better facility. But as far as everything else they're doing great work. I always see them walking the dogs and that animals appear healthy and happy.
Whoever answered the phone a few minutes ago is so rude. I only got like 5 words out before I was interrupted by this lady. This isnβt the first time either. You guys never help out the animals. Even if they are sick.
