Our beloved 16 1/2 year old Min Pin, Carly was sent over the Rainbow Bridge on June 14th, 2024. 😔 The Vets & Staff who walked us through everything were so wonderful - our grief is still very raw & they showered her with such GRACE & PEACE. We will be forever grateful to them for this. Thank you for getting her ashes & paw print to us quickly as well.

Dr. Rieb and his staff are incredible. Visits are thorough and well done, with staff following up a few days after the visit to check in on the animals. For those complaining about price, I would refer to the maxim about getting what you pay for. I love my yellow lab, Sage, more than most human beings. I'm willing to pay for preventative care in many instances. Sometimes I'm not and I decline the recommendations. I know that running a business is costly and there is a lot of overhead most folks never even consider. I could go on providing examples of Dr. Rieb and his staff's love and compassion for animals, but the fact is I trust them and rely on them to provide medical care for my pets.

Today (June 19, 2024), I called for an appointment (Watertown,SD) for tooth surgery and teeth cleaning for my 9 yr old dog who has an abscessed tooth, some cracked/broken molars and a large swollen knob under her eye and a swollen face. I talked to the receptionist about my dog. She said she’d talk to the doctor and call me back. She called me back to tell me, my dog could not be seen until August 9. She said they are busy with all the spayed, neutering, and such jobs. This vet clinic, I feel is not compassionate or professional. I find them to be unethical. Here is a dog with an infection due to a cracked/broken tooth, a swollen face, a large knob under the eye, and in pain. They would not push back some non-emergency surgeries to provide an immediate spot for a surgery that had needed to be done immediately. They expected my dog to wait about a month and a half to be attended to. In that time, the pain and infection could have over come my dog and killed her. I do not recommend this vet clinic. I found a different vet clinic, Glacial Lakes Vet clinic who saw my dog the same day I called. They also will be giving my dog surgery a day and a half later! Glacial Lakes Vet clinic is what I call a professional, compassionate, ethical vet and clinic.

Called due to a break in my dogs leg and was informed that no one in town could do anything for it and would have to go to Sioux falls, after making 1 phone call found a vet in town that would do it. Came across as rude and quick to dismiss would not recommend after this experience.

The most caring, considerate, professional vet I have ever seen. Today our beloved furry family member was ready to move on to her next life. I am not sure we were ready for her to go. The staff at small animal care made this the most easiest, compassionate, professional, and considerate thing for us. They even came to our house so she would be at ease, relaxed and gently went to sleep and ended her pain. They have worked as our vet for a few years now and have always been top notch. I cannot say enough positive things about this clinic. They have made me a lifetime customer. If you need anything for your pet, take them there. No questions asked. They will get the best care.

The vet and his staff are knowledgeable and provide proper care, but it’s at more than double the rate than any other vet in town charges. Every time I’m there I’m getting extra services shoved down my throat, which I always decline as I personally don’t find them necessary. Today I was charged nearly three time as much for a service than the going rate in town. I verified the procedures from clinic to clinic were comparable, but Dr. Rieb still offered no reason for the exorbitant costs other than telling me “I’m sorry you didn’t ask for an estimate.” We have two dogs and are lifelong dog owners who will not be bringing our business back for these or any future pets.
