First, let me share that I work here, but as someone who knows a lot about dogs, I've always been a bit cautious about dog daycares. The Dog Retreat & Spa, however, does an amazing job of keeping everything clean, and the staff are super attentive and knowledgeable about dog safety. When I first saw the facility, I was really impressed with how well-maintained everything is. Jalene and Ed have worked hard to ensure the place is in top shape. Unlike many other daycares, they have excellent cleaning and sanitization protocols. Our staff are Pack Pro trained and also complete The Dog Gurus program, which thoroughly covers dog body language and safety. From the moment I joined this team, I felt right at home. My colleagues and I share a common passion for the wellbeing, love, and safety of dogs. I absolutely love being a fun and safe part of people's dogs' lives. I also enjoy getting to know our clients and sharing any knowledge I can to help improve their relationships with their dogs and ensure they feel comfortable here. My dog Juniper loves coming to work with me. She enjoys the staff and making friends with all our wonderful dog clients! She loves hanging out in grooming when it’s time for her spa days too.

We are so, so lucky to be able to send our puppy to daycare at The Dog Retreat. Jalene and her team are remarkable—they are so caring and are incredibly wise about dog behavior. (And humans as well!) My puppy has been going to The Dog Retreat since she was 4 months old, and her experiences there have been an incredibly positive influence on her socialization and her open, happy, secure attitude towards other dogs and people. When we arrive at The Dog Retreat in the morning, she runs to the staff there, wiggling with delight. The Dog Retreat has helped to ensure that she is growing into a happy, friendly, confident dog—-and I know that she is always safe and in the best care possible when she is there. The pictures and daily report card are the best! A million thanks Jalene and Dog Retreat staff!!

We have used the Dog Retreat & Spa for several years, both for day care and for grooming. Ed and Jalene and their staff are wonderful with our three dogs and have been very helpful to us as well, with training tips, equipment loans, etc. We live a mile away, but they are conveniently located on 128 for all you commuters. You won’t regret taking your dogs to this fabulous place. Our dogs are all happy AND stylish.

We LOVE the Dog Retreat! Our pup is always so excited to go there and comes back tired in the best way, but always still well adjusted, happy, and clearly so well cared for. We recommend The Dog Retreat to anyone who is looking for amazing service, the most caring and authentic staff, and to provide the best experience for their dog. The facts are in the report cards you receive! Thank you so much, Dog Retreat!

There are options for dogs out there but the Dog Retreat and Spa is 100% a second home to our girl, Sophie. She loves it so much and the staff loves her. Every day I get photos and comments about her day and truly can relax when I know how happy she is. We’ve boarded her too and it’s always a success. Do not hesitate, worth every penny!

I am writing a follow-up review here after your comment. I don't blame the charge. I am asking for more communication about the additional charge and stay information during check-in. Also, do you think I care about two dollars? I spend much more than that for my dog per stay for 9 overnights. Please acknowledge your communication failure with a customer and apologize. Regarding another comment, you decided not to give a dental chew because of stomach upset. Here, I am more furious about this. You wrote several report cards during the week-long stay to me through the portal. However, you never mentioned stomach upset. In addition, my dog had eye inflammation with a big tear mark that you left for 3 days. I provided emergency contacts but you didn't reach out, not even in the report card. Plus, you decided not to give a dental stick, so why did you charge for it? I believe this place keeps trying to justify its additional charges to dog owners and never takes responsibility or puts in effort to care for their dogs through communication. I hope this place understands its faults and improves. People consider these comments and recent Reddit reviews when deciding whether to use this place or not.
