Description "Each VCA hospital has health and safety protocols in place based on health care best practices as well as state and local guidance and regulations."
We have had a few visits for more than routine care and generally have been able to get in pretty quickly. The vets are not pushy about ordering expensive tests and being in the (human) medical field they were quite accommodating to all my annoying questions. I think the prices are a little on the high side but you are paying for convenient and appropriate care in a nice facility with good staff. When it comes to vets you often get what you pay for and I would say the care is great so the price is fair.
I took my dog here to get checked as she had stomach issues x3 days in February. They charged me $260.00 for absolutely nothing. They did a parvo test on my girl, but she is an indoor dog and does not really interact with other dogs, so I knew it would be negative. Then they told me that medicine would help, but I never asked for it, but they charged me for it anyways( an additional $45.00). I ended up taking matters into my own hands and was able to get the stomach issues resolved without the meds that I did not ask for. If I need vet care in the future I will not go here.
TL;DR a vet at VCA OV went against standard procedures to accommodate us. Back in 2021, my dog was bit by a dog we knew. The bite mark showed signs of infection. One way or another, we called VCA OV for an appointment. We had gotten our dog in early 2020 and hadn't gone the extra mile to work on socializing. When the vet tech went to take our dog, he told us he was uncomfortable in posture and tone. I asked if we could go back, but weren't allowed due to the circumstances of 2020. I asked if we could waive having him taken back unaccompanied, to be weighed. We knew his weight and asked for the meds to be prescribed off of our word. The vet agreed, and that has never been lost on me that they really helped us out when they didn't have to.
This place wanted to charge me almost 1k just to figure out what the open wound for my dog was. I waited 2 hours for nothing to top it off. Went somewhere else they took care of the problem and only charged me $500!
Our little puppy loved his 1st visit to Northwest Pet Clinic! His veterinarian was thorough and gave us an update on his health status!
This was my first visit here. My dog is fearful of new places and people so vet visits are challenging. The facility was nice, clean and easy to navigate. We were seen quite quickly and they took my dog back right away and gave her medications. The cost was less than I was expecting for an emergency vet. It was a great visit with no issues.
