Description We rescue dogs and cats in desperate circumstances and place them in permanent homes, and we provide free emergency boarding and vet care for pet owners in need. Pets are family, and we believe in keeping families together. Founded in 2000, Rescue Right / Community Cats is a New York State 501(c)3 non-profit organization EIN 82-1657969. The heart of our operation is our TNR program, or trap-neuter-return of feral cats. Through this spay/neuter and vaccination program as well as adoption outreach and daily feedings of feral cat colonies, these needy animals are leading happier, healthier lives.

My husband and I are so happy we found Rescue Right. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by extremely friendly staff. They truly care about their dogs and cats and want them all to find great homes and do a great job pairing you with the animal who best fits your lifestyle so they can set you up for success! We found our sweet Nash and love him to pieces. They made sure to provide his current vaccinations and history sheet. They made sure that he was thoroughly dewormed and ready to go home. They are very supportive and we know that if we ever need their help they are just a phone call away! We love our little guy and we can’t thank Penny and her staff enough for this little nugget!

This shelter is wonderful. My family and I recently started volunteering here in hopes of helping the animals. Ms. Penny and her staff have shown great care and dedication to the wellbeing of these cats and dogs. We appreciate the support of these adorable animals and the effort towards finding them a home.

I had a wonderful experience with Rescue Right. I found Penny to be kind, thoughtful , and caring. She took the time to match us to a dog perfect for us. Our dog ended up testing postive for heartworm shortly after adoption. I called Penny to inform her. Her response was “we will take care of her”. Not only did they pay for her treatment, they also assisted with transport to and from the vet. They are fantastic, compassionate, and caring people and a wonderful organization.

Rescue Right is such an amazing organization! We recently adopted our puppy through them and we cant say enough good things. Penny and her staff take incredibly good care of their rescues and make sure they all go to good homes. They make sure you have all the information and materials needed to take care of your dog. Rescue Right’s adoption fees are also an incredible bargain. The $625 adoption fee covered not only all of our dog’s past shots, but also her upcoming ones for when our puppy is old enough. The fee also covers the microchipping as well as her spaying when she turns 6 months old. If you are looking to adopt from a reputable caring organization, Rescue Right is the one for you.

I have been to Rescue Right a few times. The owner/leader of the rescue has always been pleasant. You can see the dedication in her eyes. The place has always been clean, and they are always doing something….whether working with the animals, cleaning kennels, litter boxes, answering the phone, running out as quick as possible when they are alerted to an emergency situation….I can go on. I definitely give them 5 stars !! I would give more !!

Rescue Right boarded my cats, it was great experience working with them. The owner is amazing woman and her staff were extremely helpful, especially James. I will continue working with them as well as referring them to other people I know with pets.
