Best vet I’ve ever been to. They don’t try to get your money the vet actually cares about the animals. He did my dogs cancer removal for less than half of the other vets. I never wait in the waiting room they are ready for us right away. Everyone is so nice. This is by far the best place around we’ve been to several. Best prices by far.
We had to make the very painful decision to put our dog Wylie to sleep two weeks ago. We called around to various Vets in the area to ask about procedures and pricing. Some Vets require an appt. Days in advance to euthanize a pet. We wanted to spend as much time as we could loving on our Wylie before letting him go. We called Wards Corner animal hospital the day we felt it was Wylies time. They were very kind and sympathetic on the phone and said we could bring him in that afternoon. We arrived at our appt. time. After they weighed our pet, they immediately took us back to a private room where we could spend as much time as we wanted saying goodbye. The staff there was very nice and caring and explained everything to us as to what would happen. They sent his body off to be creamated for us. We picked him up a week later in a very nice small wooden box with his name on it and a paper explaining the grieving process for pet owners. We also received a book marker with a very nice story about the Rainbow Bridge. We are very thankful to Wards Corner animal hospital for making a very painful experience a little more bearable. They were very kind and compassionate.

Took my very sick pup there yesterday and they were wonderful. When I called, the ladies that answered both times were helpful and got him right in.Dr Henehan is kind of brusk but i dont need fawning..i need a vet that will tell me whats going on in terms i understand and treat my best boy... Tests were run quickly and found he wasn't as sick as we'd thought. YAY. After a shot, he's home and going to get better Thanks so much for their quick response and help!
I just want to say that I am not giving this one star review to the front staff -they were lovely and very understanding. This is strictly towards Dr. Henehan and his treatment towards me, my mom, and my two ferrets, Moe and Eva. I came in on Saturday and told Dr. Henehan the symptoms of both of my ferrets, that they were lethargic, throwing up, and had diarrhea- but I was mainly concerned about Moe as his stomach was distended and I didn’t know if there was a blockage or not. Dr. Henehan immediately took Moe and felt his stomach and said that it wasn’t a blockage but fluid in his abdomen. He offered to do an X-Ray to which we agreed. He showed up after with Moe saying that the X-Ray indicated that there was fluid in there and he knew what it was- a virus found in one out of three ferrets that is always fatal and that Moe was going to die. He said that he could drain the fluid but it would be no use because the fluid would just come back and that we’d have to come back every week to drain it. After that, he asked about my ferret Eva and if she was eating at all- to which we stated that she was. We asked if she had the same thing as Moe and he said that it was likely and to just keep an eye on her to see if her symptoms worsen. So my mom asked what the next steps were and he said “well I want to put that one down today (points to moe), and I want you to keep an eye on the other one.” My ferrets are living beings with names and he treated them like they were nothing but gum on the bottom of a shoe. I also noticed that he was trying hard to get rid of us as there were other patients but he was nothing but rude to us so we decided to reschedule the euthanasia and get a second opinion. So I went to a different veterinary clinic - All Creatures in Amelia- and it turns out all of my ferrets have coccidia and Moe had NO free fluid in his abdomen. They did an ultrasound and a fecal analysis to determine the illness- they didn’t do an X-Ray and make assumptions like Dr. Henehan did. I will never come back to Wards Corner- Dr.Henehan almost killed my ferret when he misdiagnosed him. I should have done further research on this vet as he clearly doesn’t specialize in ferrets or other exotic animals even though he said he does. He lacks compassion and will do anything to get more money out of you. Oh and by the way this whole visit cost me $310 dollars for an X-Ray and four shots while my visit to the other clinic cost me $380 with even more testing and antibiotics- and they treated ALL of my ferrets not just one.
The staff is amazing. Everyone was very kind and easy to deal with. The exam for our puppy was very thorough, and we are extremely confident that we made the right choice for her.
