I’ve gotten two of my pups spayed here and I also brought one of my dogs here to get a splint when her leg was broken after getting hit by a car. Every single time I’ve gone to the Lawrence Humane Society, it’s been such a pleasant experience. Their staff always go above and beyond with their customer service. Also, their fees make emergency vet care so much more easier to deal with. I am so appreciative of the Lawrence Humane Society!!

Welcoming Amelia to the Broz family! Amelia is our 3rd pet adopted from LHS, Stella (pictured left) is an Alum along with our cat (not pictured) Chaplin. We love Lawrence Humane Society and the unconditional support they provide to adoptable pets, the community and families of LHS alumni. Welcoming Amelia to our family came during our first year of marriage, we had discussed adding another puppy to bring some life back into our house as our dogs were getting older and our house just seemed to quiet. They posted Amelia over Memorial Day weekend and we just knew she was the pup for us, we came home from our family vacation and headed straight in to meet her. We had emailed all weekend keeping touch on her adoption status and when we walked in to finally see her we were greeted with kindness and care, we waited patiently as it was a busy weekend for adoptions! When we got into the meeting room with Amelia we were educated on her temperament, vaccine and spay status, caring for her fresh spay, recommendations for helping with her food guarding and training and most of allowed a moment to discuss if it was the best decision for our family. Amelia has brought fun energy back into our home and filled our hearts with love, Archie and Stella are absolutely obsessed with their new sister and we cannot recommend LHS enough!

I got the pleasure to take home the most wonderful dog from them today. The process was fast and easy. All staff members were caring and kind, it’s obvious that they want these animals to go to good homes. The front desk lady was funny and cracking jokes with me. This should be the standard to all shelters.

My husband and I wanted to add a companion to our family. We found our oldest cat, Toby, at LHS. After a month of loving and caring for him to the fullest, we decided to adopt a companion for our sweet boy. We went back to Lawrence Humane Society and we found our Theo. They have been a bonded pair since we brought Theo home. They are now inseparable and we are so happy to be able to love them as fully as they deserve for the rest of their lives. We had great interactions at the humane society- the volunteers and workers are one in a million and really care for and nurture every animal still searching for their forever home. We are so grateful they have us the opportunity to bring these two boys into our lives. Now life is a little brighter and warmer with them. We can’t recommend Lawrence Humane Society enough. ❤️
