Description Misty Eyes Animal Center rehabilitates and re-homes dogs and cats. In addition to adoption the organization offers community outreach and youth outreach programs. These programs teach responsible pet ownership and kindness toward all living things. Many of these programs are designed to help those in underserved areas. The organization is 100% volunteer run. They are in the process of building a four building campus and are currently on phase two of four. If you would like to help please visit their website.

I love Misty Eyes. We adopted one kitten and the staff kept saying, "Get 2. Trust us, you'll wish you'd have gotten 2." They were right. Our first girl was so hungry for play and attention every moment of every day, no matter what I did! So about 6 months later, I found myself back at Misty Eyes adopting a second kitten. Both times the staff was very helpful and friendly. I love the fact that the animals live in foster homes. It allows them to adjust to various environments. This means if you have other pets or kids, you'll be able to find a pet who is most suitable for your home. In the second adoption, I was able to connect with the foster home which was really fun to be able to share photos and updates with the host family. The only possible 'down side' to Misty Eyes is that they're only open on weekends, and I only work weekends. I had to take time off to visit during open hours, but it was well worth it! The business is volunteer based, so being open daily is not realistic. I'm super grateful to the people who donate their time to work with Misty Eyes ❤️
We have had two rescues from there. They really care about the animals and they are well cared for! They also work to match you with the idea one for your home and life still. Super good place to get your next pet!
Adopted a gorgeous furbaby here. The building is clean, the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. The animals are well cared for and well loved while waiting for their forever family. The photos below are of Miss Emily. We adopted her at the first of the year, and she definitely rules the roost. ❤️
Went a few times to try to interact with some pets on the weekends, the first time, the shelter was apparently closed, but no sign or anything was left and there were multiples of people in the parking lot waiting. When I as actually able to make it to a time when they were open, the person who I was instructed to speak with was very cross and snappy at me when I, myself did not say anything to her, rather my interest in viewing the animals was portrayed by the other person working there. While I understand that everyone has bad days, these are my only two interactions with the rescue and I thought it necessary to post why it was I wouldn't return for people possibly interested in the rescue.
These are great people that really care about the animals! We drove 4 hours to adopt a kitten from them. She had some health issues that Misty Eyes made sure we're all cleared up before we adopted her. We could not be happier!
Very helpful and friendly. All dogs are fostered but they tend to have 2-3 in house during open hours for people to visit and adopt. Went out of their way to help with a private visit for us for a timid child. We adopted him and we all love our new family member. Thank you for all you do. Please thank Rocky's (now Pretzel) fosters for holding him until we found him.
