After our dog went missing at Sandy Creek Park, Officer Pinkston's calm assuring words, as well as his advice regarding posting on various apps and social media groups was invaluable. Our story had a happy ending and our dog returned to our car in Sandy Creek Park just like Officer Pinkston said he might. If he hadn’t made this suggestion we might still be looking for our pet out on Nowhere Road which is where he was last sighted! Officer Pinkston was by far the most helpful professional we spoke with during our 24 hour ordeal. We cannot thank him and Jackson County Animal Shelter enough for helping us reunite with our dog.

I REALLY WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP SAYING THINGS LIKE "avoid this shelter, dont go there. Etc" THE ONLY PERSON BEING HURT BY THIS ARE THE ANIMALS. THEY CAN NOT HELP THAT THEY ARE STUCK, DUMPED, & ABANDONED IN A SHELTER. THEY DESPERATELY NEED TO BE ADOPTED AND OR FOSTERED. DO NOT KNOCK THE SHELTER REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE PEOPLE WERE LIKE . .THE ANIMALS ARE WHY YOU ARE THERE. ID WALK THRU HELL TO SAVE AN ANIMAL. 💗SO YOU SHOULD GO TO THIS SHELTER ...SAVE A LIFE....IF THE SHELTER ISNT GOOD (WHICH I AM NOT SAYING) IS JUST MORE REASON TO GO GET AN ANIMAL OUT OF THERE. RIGHT? Extremely impressed with Officer Holly! Her communication and follow up on a case involving our business was incredible. She went above and beyond to help us. You can tell she really cares about her job and the animals of this county. Thank you!

Very helpful and explanatory on how adoption works! We can’t wait to get our new fur baby home on Monday! These poor babies need the community adoption for the price is so worth it!!

Found 2 stray puppies in middle of the road and googled the closest animal shelter or rescue. Jackson county came up. We were driving to Atlanta from Virginia and detoured 10 miles to take the puppies to be cared for. When we arrived, the shelter was closed for renovation. NOWHERE on the web page does it say it's closed. A couple of animal control officers came out as we were looking to see if anyone was around. They told us that they couldn't help us because the puppies were not from Jackson county and we should put the puppies back where we picked them up. REALLY? We are traveling through the state and have no idea which county is which. Needless to say, we continued on to Barrow county where they were wonderful and extremely helpful. They had genuine empathy for the puppies and said they would be adopted quickly. Glad they didn't become roadkill in a foreign county.
