I would give zero stars if that were an option. The negligence of Ashcroft directly led to the death of both of our dogs. We had a family emergency that took us out of town for 10 weeks. Our regular pet sitter and kennel were full and we were desperate. In reading Ashcroft’s reviews, they seemed like a good option and had availability last minute. Perhaps that should have told us something, but hindsight’s 20/20. What followed was a heartbreaking nightmare. Our sweet, older BuddyBoy sustained a deep wound to his carpus and had to be transferred to our vet while we were still away. His wound was already becoming necrotic by the time our vet saw him. The only explanation Ashcroft gave was maybe it was from the way he was lying in his kennel?! Several weeks of IV antibiotics and wound care at our vet weren’t able to heal his injuries. We had to say goodbye to him the day after returning. BuddyBoy never made it home. Our younger, previously healthy girl, Trixie, was visually skeletal when we picked her up. She had lost 1/3 of her body weight while at Ashcroft and was obviously ill and struggling for breath. Within 12 hours, we had to take her to the ICU at CSU. We were told she was fully septic and near death. All this, despite us being assured she was “doing great” every time we spoke with someone at Ashcroft. And we called every 2-3 days! We did everything we could to save them both (20k in vet bills/ICU at CSU Veterinary Hospital- awesome staff there!!-), but the damage was too great. We lost our boy within the first 24 hours of arriving in town. Our girl fought her little heart out but she’d sustained permanent organ damage and we had to say goodbye to little Trix as well. You never think when you board your dogs that you might not ever have them home again. We sent an email detailing all of this to Ashcroft. We received no response, only silence. Heartbreaking. In essence, we paid Ashcroft $4,139.90 to kill both of our dogs. Please don’t let this happen to you.
I left my dog, Hazel, for a little under 2 weeks and provided a bed for her to use in her bin and Ashcroft did not use the bed which resulted in my dog developing pressure wounds on all of her legs because she refused to lay in the kennel’s bedding. My dog was much skinnier and tired after picking her up, which was questionable. They never once called and said anything about the bedding and only mentioned a “small scrape” on her paw, which I never even saw. A week after picking her up, my dog developed a skin infection which cost me $450 to treat at the vet and when I called Ashcroft, they said they can’t do anything because I didn’t add the extra insurance, which no one ever offered me or told me was an option when signing her up for boarding. They also gave Hazel a bath and charged me for it even though I did not request this and had to pay it. I do NOT recommend this boarding kennel, and if you do go there, get their dumb insurance and go to the vet within 5 days or they won’t cover anything!
Only had one day there for daycare with my puppy so far, but he had a great time. It was his first ever big socialization event and the staff were great easing him into the experience and helping him gain confidence. The report card they sent me at the end of the day was fantastic! He will definitely be going back. Huge plus that they do tours for pet parents, and meet and greet days for free.
What a huge relief! I was truly struggling trying to find GOOD place for my fur baby. This place is doggie HEAVEN!! I am a very anxious dog mama, and everyone there was so friendly and patient with ALL of my questions! After Kiowa’s meet and greet it was so reassuring to get a report card! So cute! My boy absolutely LOVES it here. All day he gets to play with his new friends and is taken care of. The staff here genuinely care for all the pups as if they were their own, and I really adore that. When I pick my boy up he is all worn out from the fun day he had, and we cuddle for the rest of the night. If you want a place where your fur baby will be safe, be taken care of, and have an absolute amazing time, Ashcroft is the place to go! 10/10 I recommend. Thank you Ashcroft!
As a new client, we arrived for my 11mo old dog’s Meet & Greet only to have a staff member immediately recognize my dog from the information on the intake form. It’s clear they do their homework and care about each individual dog. He had an awesome experience and we received a detailed report card—filled with adorable photos of his day. This after an employee gave a detailed and informative run down of his day. I’ll post another review as our experience grows, but first impressions were flawless!
I went here to get my dog groomed. They said I needed to bring in paperwork showing vaccinations. I got up because my appointment was at 8:00. My dog gets groomed regularly and they normally just ask for rabies vaccinations. I brought this and all vaccinations and I got there and they said they needed kennel cough vaccination. My Pomeranian had this when she was first born and records show it but she said they need it every 6 months. I asked if this is mandatory in the state and she said “no” just their kennel because they also board. This is fine if this is their policy but nobody let me know this and I got up early, made sure I had records that are requested by other groomers, and it was raining to get my dog there and find out this information. Unprofessional and will not be going there anymore. Why couldn’t you communicate this before the appointment?!
