Be careful! I submitted an application for a cat with this rescue providing my legal name and driver’s license number. Because I go by my middle name (Victoria) on social media instead of my first name, the rescue posted my personal information in a local “Do Not Adopt” Facebook group saying I was using a fake name to acquire cats. They proceeded to block members of other rescues who I have worked with when they defended me and said I was a great foster and adopter. I would not want anyone else to get defamed by this unprofessional rescue over a technicality. Texas CARES is an ironic name for a rescue who treats their potential adopters like criminals. I can think of a ton of better rescues in DFW to adopt from: North Texas Cat Rescue, Hearts and Tails of Hope Rescue, New Life Cat Rescue, Friends of Destiny Kitten Rescue, Dallas Cat Lady, Texas Paw Prints Cat & Kitten Rescue, The Cat’s Meow Animal Rescue, Buddie’s Place Cat Rescue, DFW Purebred and Domestic Cat Rescue.

Awesome place and lovely staff. Pet kittens and cats and uniquely-themed rooms. The owners themselves intimately know each cat and how they interact. We ended up adopting from this place and we have a nice rescue kitten we call storm
