Description Palm Springs Animal Shelter is the only public shelter in the Coachella Valley operating under the no-kill philosophy. We are managed and operated by Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter a 501(c)(3) organization (TAX ID 33-0731853) dedicated to responsible pet stewardship and the humane treatment of animals. We depend on our community to adopt, foster, volunteer, donate, and most of all, to believe that together, we can save lives.

We went about last year about spring time and adopted a beautiful tiny kitten her names was feliz, her name is baby now and she is the best, The animal shelter provided us with a lot of resources that help us get stuff for her when we adopted her and I’m very grateful that we had stopped by to get a cat. They also were very helpful with her because she had recently had surgery because she got hit by a car and had to eat certain food and they provided us with the food she needed which was quite expensive.
I have a mother cat that had two sets of cats in my garage the other ones grew up and became extremely feral the second set of kittens are now about two and a half months old and very docile and I had befriended them which was really good because I was able to get them to Palm springs animal shelter and they neutered and spaded the kittens and gave them their shots and gave them medicine cuz a couple of them had a sneeze and runny nose and eyes and then they returned them back to me it's a catch and return policy and what was beautiful about it is these are Siamese mixed kittens they did not clip their ears so it made it possible to still keep them in their natural beauty and be able to find homes for them Palm springs is making a big effort to try to curb the population of animals and if you were able to catch any cats I would call animal shelter of Palm springs and ask for Jenna and she can put you on a list to get these cats fixed and returned back to you and though they may be running around they will keep the mice away especially if you live near Fields like I do and also they will be vaccinated fixed they cannot have babies and it will help curb the population of feral cats I would give them 10 Stars if I could I intend on going to rent cages to get the older cats and just catch whoever I can especially the mommy cat cross your fingers for me and wish me luck the mother cat is very feral she tolerates me because I feed her kittens and she gets a little bit of it too but as far as catching her and fixing her I don't know how that's going to work out and if you can catch the male cats do it because they come around and flocks when there is a fertile female cat and it is a 24-hour and 48 hour battle.. the older feral cats got one of my first set of kittens pregnantshe was only 5 months old and she had the babies somewhere but we saw her once or twice and she was not doing good in this heat it was sad to see and sad to watch she was one of the first cats that was Farrell with her mom she's a beautiful Siamese it's too bad hoping to catch them in the future though so that we cannot continue this cycle of many cats being born with no hope
I love this shelter, even though it is smaller than the other ones here in the valley, they really pay attention to detail and they treat the pets here like their own! You always see them walking the dogs and their pens are always clean! I recommend if you are looking to save a pet, choose this shelter because you know your new fur baby will be clean and well taken care of! Keep up the great work guys and gals!!
Love this place, I adopted my little bear from here 16 years ago, when she was just a puppy, she has since passed in August RIP little bear you were the greatest dog anyone could have ever had
I appreciate everything they do here, but having loud booming music during an event with complete chaos running around. They cannot hear that I was there to drop off a feral kitten. Took four different volunteers to help me. The whole time, Booming music through their speakers and people not be able to communicate with animals Looking very concerned. Keep the music outside, not in the shelter. This cannot be good for the animals. I took a video, but it won’t let me upload to this review. I get your doing an event, but the whole ideas to put the animals needs first. Not one person at this event put any animals needs first. Not one.
Awesome place. Great staff and volunteers! Animals well cared for...got my Deon there. 😊
