I cannot say enough about the entire team at Boston West: doctors, nurses, techs, front desk.... I had the unlucky daily double of having one dog needing to have a cancerous tumor removed on a very sensitive area and then the day she came home the other dog who never eats anything inedible threw up a rock a giant rock and proceed to go into serious distress. Boston West handled both with care, love, good humor, and excellent service both medical and customer. Dr. Aiken was just the best surgeon (for the cancer dog) we have ever had and his bedside manner was even better. He made every call personally from post surgery to discharge to pathology. The team took every call for her and the rock dog and handled them both as if they were their own. They answered every question and returned calls promptly. Care like this is never cheap but this was MUCH more affordable than Tufts and worth every penny. But here is the amazing part: They made an estimate with a low-high and then charged the high saying they would refund the difference. I thought there is no way I get money back BUT in BOTH cases they refunded us. Amazing. Look at those faces minutes after leaving. I highly highly recommend this location and the entire group starting with the team that took the calls.

The doctor saw my Persian cat right away and provided a diagnosis that informed me how to help my child to recover. I was provided with information all along the way and they asked appropriate questions to try to get know my kid as well as possible. The doctor was also very upfront about costs and being smart about decision-making. We also had our own exam room for privacy, everything was clean and the staff were caring and professional.

We have used their services a couple of times before and they were excellent, but in the last week we experienced the some of the most devastating moments for our family: both of our fur babies had to be put down within days from one another and we are so thankful that we did so at Boston West Vet. The staff was so friendly and Dr. Agnello could not be more compassionate and kind when presenting the available resources and the best options for our little guy. Then days later when we brought our little girl for the same reason, we were relieved, despite the pain, that he would be doing the procedure. Dr. Agnello could not be more compassionate, he spent time with us and offered some beautiful words of comfort, he carried our forever sleeping baby girl with such respect and care. Their staff sent us cards with the most beautiful messages, for which we are all very appreciative. For the practical side, they are very skilled and competent , they are ethical and do not push unnecessary procedures and have very reasonable prices. All other encounters, physicians and staff are amazing. Highly recommend this place.

Jul 21, 2024 2-7 pm: I want to thank the veterinarian doctor and the staff at Boston West for supporting us through our best friend Bruno’s last few hours with us. It was one of the most difficult periods of our family life. Bruno was ill and we had to make the difficult decision to end his pain. The doctor was professional and yet compassionate. She took the time to explain choices and let us make the decision in the best possible and respectful manner. The staff was so kind to us and let us spend the last few hours of his life with us in a dedicated room. They never rushed us. It never felt like a business transaction. They were there for us but still gave us the space to say good bye. A few days later we recieved a hand written condolence card with notes from each of the people we interacted with. I was blown away by their thoughtfulness and their card will be part of Bruno’s memories now. My family is grateful for everyone that day. From the front desk , to the emergency staff to the doctor and everyone else. A huge thank you !!

Highly recommend for emergency pet care. We had to use this place twice, once for critical care (strangulation). Friendly, empathetic staff from registration to techs to veterinarian. They explained everything from care plan options to costs and helped with processing insurance. Both times there seemed to be sufficient staff and there were a lot of care rooms.

Amazing service and staff!! My teenage boys had to take my 7 month old rescue there because I was on travel for work. They were scared because our new puppy couldn't stand up, was shaking and puking. They reassured my kids and took care of our puppy. They phoned me several times throughout the process. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!
