I lost my beloved Athena early this year, and wasn't really ready in my mind to open my home up again. I had been visiting the humane society and the pups there just to help get some loves and soften my loss. A month ago I walked in asking to meet "Feket" whom took too me right away, to the point I made the call in that very moment. Especially hearing she had been rescued just a week prior only to be brought back because she was overly curious of their cats... Lexi has adjusted well to a bachelor 3rd shift worker and enjoys chasing bunnies and squirrels out of her yard and was caught sunbathing on the patio with the neighbors cat.

These folks are awesome, super professional and nice. We fostered a few dogs over the holidays and had a few foster-fail close calls, as in, we loved those dogs! These poor little animals were with us as short as two days before they found their permanent homes. A little bit of a heart break every time. Our last one was clear, foster-to-adopt. This stray was too underweight for adoption (17 pounds, initially) for a pittie, staffie, bulldog, hound mix?! Today she was at 30! Still way to go, but she has her home, now. Go volunteer with them, or adopt one. ALL we had were absolutely super cute. Yes training will be needed!

10/10 experience with this shelter. I can't even explain how quick Honey(adopted as Meredith) became a part of our family. We fostered Honey (Meredith) for a week while she was waiting to be fixed to see if there was gonna be good chemistry with our cat and she won everyone's heart immediately. They are now best friends! The staff was amazing through the whole process and made sure we were set up with a healthy dog, on a healthy diet and fixed, all before adoption.

I can't say enough good things about this place. I was left with no options to receive emergency medical care for a stray that was dropped off by my house. They stayed after closing to help me come up with a resolution I could afford, that also spared an innocent life. They showed me there are still compassionate people in this world that put animals health and well-being as a priority. There aren't many, but I know of a few that work at Ingham county. 😁

we’ve had the same house collect dogs and abuse them nonstop. we’ve called them multiple times for them not to do anything about it and just give them right back to them. at this point it is so bad that this little baby putbull is malnourished. he is still out there after we called them again yesterday asking anyone to help us save these animals. the animal control center is not doing anything.

awesome helpful people. I had them do my cat's vaccines and microchipping, but you have to plan far ahead and keep an eye out on the calendar for vaccine clinics cuz they fill up quickly. first come first serve
