My two pups recently got out and were taken to puppy prison. I got a call from Bright Side immediately when they ran their chips and I got them an hour later. The staff member I spoke with in receiving was very kind and compassionate about my dogs and you could tell she was there for the animals. I had looked at adopting from them in the past and ended up finding a better fit with a different stray. Bright Side is a great organization!

The staff and facility at Brightside (especially Alicia at the front desk)are amazing, with the exception of the smarmy condescending director who thinks she is just the best trainer and dog psychiatrist ever. Im from ohio, we invented the backhanded insults and belittling comments. Drax now Bruno is a perfect fit for our family. He loves to hug and cuddle and go for long car rides. He is the perfect energy level. Clean well cared for animals. Professional medical team. And fair pricing.

Wonderful staff who care about each and every one of their animals. I adopted my sweet Faya (Tessa) just over a year ago, and they were so helpful and grateful. I'm thankful for all the work they do with the local community to help support the animals!

After the loss of my dog I looked for a new companion and best friend. No animal hit me like Sundance (Now Jack) when we first met him. The team was so patient with my few visits, helpful with loads of questions, and super friendly staff that really care for the well-being of the animals. We were in and out for the adoption in about an hour. We met with 2 dogs and had sundance do his meet and greet with our other dog. The paperwork process was a breeze and we were off with my new best furry friend resting in my lap. He's been such a lovable boy just wanting to play fetch for hours! He's also made himself right at home in our workshop!

Foster Program Coordinator, Carol, is an outstanding liaison for BrightSide. Our family signed up to be foster parents for kittens in 2024. Carol periodically checked in as we awaited our first family, letting us know she was looking for a good cat family fit for us. During our first foster, she was attentive and available when questions (big and small) arose. She was punctual with checkups and ensuring our momma and kittens had everything they needed. She made the experience fun and memorable for our whole family, including our small children! We also adopted adult cats from BrightSide several years ago. The process was seamless and the cats are doing well, years later. Thank you :)

There was a litter of stray kittens I attempted to bring here to Brightside - after waiting at the front desk for about 30 minutes they asked me to walk around the back to receiving. I stood out there for another 30 or so minutes waiting for someone to come open the door. Finally, someone came. They said they would accept the 5 kitten litter but then they attempted to make me fill out an owner surrender form even though I told them multiple times they were strays. I reiterated to them that they are not my kittens and I just wanted to make sure they ended up somewhere safe. Finally they pulled out a stray form and were about to hand it to me. The lady (I think her name was Cayla or something close to that?) then told me that actually since they are strays they do not have room in their facility to take them in. 2 seconds before if I was willing to fill out an owner surrender form they would’ve had room? A little weird but okay. She loaded the kittens back in the carrier and told me I needed to bring them to the Humane Society in Bend. So I hop in my car and drive over and they inform me that since the cats were found in Redmond and because I am from Redmond the cats should really go to Brightside. Now I’m left with a litter of kittens that are not mine and I cannot afford to take care of because I don’t want to leave them on the street to die. What kind of shelter does that?
