Cannot say enough good things about them. Every person we interacted with was knowledgeable, kind, and wanted the best for all of the animals. We called ahead before driving two hours and they gave us all of the information we needed over the phone and did everything they could to make the process as easy as possible. Upon arrival with our current dog, the staff was very helpful in allowing us to have the dogs meet outside to decrease anxiety and knowledgeable in interpreting their behavior as they (successfully!) warmed up to each other. When we called, they had let us know that our new pup still needed to be spayed but they’d scheduled the appointment for later in the week. We are very appreciative of this and thankful she is in great hands until we are able to return from out of town and get her in a few days. We are so thankful for the work you do!

Extremely clean facility. The staff has the best interest in mind for the pet and the potential adopter. We were allowed to see multiple prospect dogs to make sure our pup was the proper fit. The staff then made sure we knew what to expect behavior wise after we got home. I feel like they truly care about the whole adoption process 💯! Thank you New Nodaway Humane Society, you are the best around!

Such an amazing experience! I have adopted 3 cats all together from them and it has been an amazing experience every single time! The cats have been spayed and neutered with all shots and have been microchipped. They take amazing care of all their precious animals!!

The employees are the best. Ruby is just perfect for us. She has gotten very comfortable. She's an amazing dog. She loves having her belly rubbed and looking out the window. She was having stomach problems and Dr Powell gave her a shot and antibiotics and she's doing much better. We love her being around. We miss our Dudley but love having ruby here. Thank you guys so much.

I’ve always been impressed with New Nodaway Humane Society. Cleanest shelter I’ve seen and the staff is always nice. The staff is always putting on different events as well which I love, especially the doggie dates! I recently adopted Juliet and it was a easy process. The staff was also very helpful in helping me find a cat that would fit in well with my home as I have two dogs in the house. Juliet gets a long with the dogs so well and I’m glad the staff was there to help me pick her out. Will always be a fan of this place!

They do support the community and community tries to support back since there's always a need for an animal shelter. Im sure they do plenty of heavy lifting... But this place is not run well, especially for the animals. The place is very dirty inside, the space that the cats are in always needs real cleaning and there isn't much opportunity to actually help volunteer for the shelter. There should be real opportunities for the community to help keep this place clean cause these animals deserve the opportunity to live in a clean space with lower disease risk. Donations are not the only thing this place needs. And Jeez last time i checked the catio is a storage space instead of being used for the cats. I did adopt from here and my pet's health issue was not told to me during the adoption process even though by the next week it was obvious there was something wrong. Thats probably why his adoption fees were $0 even though I was not told why. It was not a contagious disease but rather a chronic life long one. The adoption process was also messy because every couple of weeks the cats were experiencing a disease or illness so one pet you wanted would be out for weeks at a time. Some disease is inevitable but back to back is just sad. Just visiting the shelter every week for a few months shows that there is an obvious need of fixing the management of the space and volunteer program. I really hope for the improvement of this place: the community wants to help but there isnt much space given FOR us to help.
