My boyfriend and I went to Forever Paws looking to adopt our first cat and the staff was very helpful and kind to us! The free roam rooms were great. They allowed us to really connect with the cats and get to know their personalities. The application process was seamless and we were able to adopt within a few days of going to the shelter! We’ve had our Monty (formerly Connor) for a little under a month now and he is wonderful and healthy! We appreciate how he was up to date on all his vaccines and neutered. Would definitely adopt here again!

We recently adopted our wonderful rescue dog from Forever Paws. From the first interaction when my husband called about Calypso to the day we brought her home (about 10 days total), every interaction we had with each staff member was positive. Staff was professional and accommodating in answering every question we had (and my husband at times called more than once a day! Lol). They were informative with what the knew about the dog and honest with what they didn't know, given she was picked up off the streets. On adoption day, they took a lot of time to walk us through their paperwork and the paperwork from her spay and again answered every question we had. We are thrilled to add Calypso...now known as Callie....to our family and we thank Forever Paws for saving her and working with our family who are first time dog owners.

Has a very good experience with the staff. Scheduled an appointment to see one cat through email and got the opportunity to see all the cats to get a feel for personality. Ended up picking up Cashmere (now Misty), and the staff are taking care of all the initial medical care (vaccines, spay appointment etc).

When we first had our application approved and went to go see the cats available for adoption this Tuesday, our lovebug Mistletoe came right up to us immediately, and I think we were all set from there— but the environment and staff at Forever Paws is just fantastic, and I got emotionally invested in the happiness of every single one of those beautiful cats, because all of them are just darling and we got such an insight into each one of them by the person who helped us (i wish i could remember his name!!!) and the day of adoption just yesterday on Friday was so exciting and just so easy. Misty has made this place her home so easy, and she's such a good girl. I'm forever in Forever Paws' debt for being responsible for us meeting this wonderful cat, this BIG BABY who LOVES to be held and who purred for HOURS STRAIGHT coming home with us and loving on everybody. Thank you!

Last August my service dog Bear had to be surrendered. He had just turned 8 when out of nowhere he started to attack people. It got to the point where I had to make the most difficult decision I’ve had to make and I called FRPD to report the attack and the Fall River Animal Control lady came with a few cops. I loaded him into their truck and that was the last time I ever saw my best friend. The worst part about this whole tragic experience was whenever I called Forever Paws to check on him they responded with “I can’t answer questions because you have no rights to the dog and surrendered him”. I’m a 70 percent service connected Marine Corps veteran honorably discharged and Bear was my PTSD service dog. I was treated like absolute trash with absolutely ZERO compassion from the staff. All for doing the right thing. Unfortunately Bear failed the rehoming test and was labeled “possessively aggressive” and had to be put down. I received his ashes from the shelter in New Bedford and he now sits on my office desk. I really think Forever Paws needs to train their staff on being sensitive and compassionate. But I will NEVER do business with them. I will always love Bear and will forever miss him. I had him when he was 5 months old. In response to FP reply. I would’ve been happy with a simple “he’s fine” but nope. Maybe change your policies because the simple fact is that not all people that surrender their animals are trash. And when it comes to getting his ashes back, that wasn’t an act of kindness or compassion. I had to pay for the cremation services and to get his ashes back. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE to treat people like this. I even told the woman that answered the phone that he was my service dog and still was treated like this. The only person that gave me any information on my dog was the animal control officer Cindy. She was compassionate and acted like a human being. But not the staff here. And why did I wait this long to write a review? Because it still hurts like it was yesterday. I cried myself to sleep every night for two weeks. I stopped eating and was increadably depressed. And when I called you guys it made it so much worse.
