Some people get paid to sit around and do nothing this is definitely one of those places. Hire new staff of members that actually want to work!!

Dropped off a stray here in September. The worker at the desk was helpful and pleasant and the animals seemed to like them, and were handled well. The shelter could benefit from more staff as they seem very busy for one worker, but that's not their fault.

UPDATE: The Animal Control Officers that have been tending the traps are very courteous & professional. Especially Officer Nate, who has come out multiple times to my residence. They are the BEST and are an adoption shelter. They will adopt out cats and kittens that are trapped, unless the animal has a contagious or untreatable disease. THANK YOU Collinsville Animal Control, for addressing our area feral cat problem! (PAST post)--> VERY COURTEOUS!! I just called this shelter to request getting traps for the feral cat problem in my neighborhood. The gentleman that answered the phone was extremely courteous and professional and he put me on a waiting list and he will call me when they can set traps. I was a little apprehensive to call them, because of the negative reviews on Google for their customer service. But the person that I spoke with was very nice and considerate and so maybe they have new staff? I look forward to them dealing with the feral cat problem soon. It is so sad that people don't spay and neuter their cats and that they let them run wild and breed wildly in our area.

These are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered in my life. We were there to drop off our cats for neutering through a low cost program they run with Hartz Second Chance. I was told drop off at 7:30. I am there at 7:25. Google directs me to the wrong location, so I try calling them (both Hartz and the shelter) no answer. I double check again. Drive around some more. Check with the other vet clinic up the road (who were very nice, though they are not affiliated and ultimately unhelpfu- though not for lack of trying). Drive back and park at the animal shelter. Wait to see if anyone comes outside. Nothing. Walk to the door, pull on the handle-locked and with a closed sign. I'm still not sure I'm in the right place as there is NO signage mentioning their affiliation with the low cost program. Leave, call some more, still not getting a response. Drive back again, and finally see a person. When I asked if this was the right place for drop off, I'm told yes. But that it is too late. It's just after 8 at this point. An older woman and a man come outside and proceed to speak over me when I try to explain what happened. They refuse to let me drop my cats off, telling me I should have been there on time. When I was. They just didn't answer the phone and no one was visible inside. When I try explaining what happened, they both talk over me and then threaten to call the police if I don't leave immediately. Addmitedly, I did get heated and raise my voice. But I was trying to explain the situation and how I was lost and kept getting cut off or told I was wrong about where and when I had been there. I understand these things run on short time. But when someone is at your clinic 3 times in a half hour trying to get inside, and you don't answer your phone, and then you are immediately confrontational and demanding they reschedule? That's not how you do business. That's certainly not how anyone I know who cares cares animals behaves. And to threaten police action for someone questioning your practices? Appalling. This place needs to be reevaluate its hiring practices. If I could give less stars, I would.

Wish I could give them a 0 We found a small dog shivering laying on the side of the rd in Collinsville freezing. We picked her up took her there and the lady very nastily said we don’t take them here take it to Edwardsville. Then turned off the intercom.

Tried to accuse me of committing a crime because I found a stray dog I let stay in my house overnight and called asking where I could have her checked for a microchip. Called before and they've been virtually useless at responding to stray animals. Not sure what they actually do??? Besides try to act like they're the police when someone else does their job for them, quite sad for the poor animals needing help.
