Everyone was so friendly at the Petsmart In Gresham Oregon. I will definitely be going back and asking for the same groomer. I would list her name here, but I can’t remember it. I will just ask for the groom that did her the last time. She did a wonderful job and my dog looked so cute.
There is not much to share about my experience a because all I did was just go in and purchase some frozen raw, species appropriate diet for a stray kitten that I've been feeding. I will say though that the price for animals to eat healthy is unacceptable, in my opinion. It really shouldn't be this expensive to feed animals what they are supposed to eat so they can thrive, and not just survive. Karen Becker is a phenomenal veterinarian who is light-years past , conventional vets, in terms of an inappropriate diet for a cat and dog and what they should actually be eating for optimal health. She had stated something one time and it stuck with me every since I heard her say it.. I'm going to paraphrase, but she basically said cats and dogs have bodies that allow them to basically be nutritionally abused for quite a long time in same cases before they ultimately parish. Where as, say, a snake, for example, will die pretty quickly if you try to feed it food that a bunny would normally eat and same goes for bunny with food for a snake.. if it's not eating the diet that is species appropriate for it they won't last very long whether they try to eat it or not. She said cats and dogs start to enter this sort of gray area..and this is where she said that they can be nutritionally abused(think kibble and man made dog and cat "treats" that are heavily processed with all sorts of colorful dyes and ingredients that should NEVER be in items meant for consumption of ANYTHING!)for lack of a better term and so they won't die right away, but there is no doubt what so ever that they will ultimately experience declining health and quality of life all the way up until they do actually die, and it's usually a very painful and undignified death, and almost always far before their time. Anyways, I really could go on and on forever about this topic because I'm passionate about it. People need to start waking the f up and do some research on what a species appropriate diet is for your pet and why it's absolutely critical that they be fed one. They deserve nothing less! I highly suggest the documentary "Pet Fooled" which you can find free on YouTube. It is a bit dated but most of the information is just as relevant, maybe even more so, today. And look up Karen Beckers work. I believe she has a website. She is just a wonderful human being and I really look up to her. Okay, well that's all I wanted to say to all you animal lovers out there that have pets.. they are so precious and they rely on you to make good decisions for them. Please start feeding them a species appropriate diet. It really isn't complicated at all. It tends to be a little bit more expensive but it helps tremendously if you buy in bulk and you buy directly from the butchers. And you especially need to make the switch if you have a sick animal that has some sort of disease, like a cat with kidney disease. People need to mix a correlation that there are animals sickness is 100% absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, a disease of the pet owners own making. It's 100% your fault got your cat or dog has a preventable disease mostly and mainly because of what you decided to feed your pet. And that might be hard to hear and definitely can't hurt a lot when you realize that you created disease poor choices, but there is an upside and the wonderful part about this is that you can choose to change the way you feed your animal.. this is, of course, if your animal hasn't passed already. Make the changes now! Like I said before, they absolutely deserve a species appropriate diet and does thriving body and mind that develops from it! If you're just starting out PetSmart has a lot of great options for quick and easy readily prepared raw meals, they're usually in the frozen section but there's some options for freeze-dried raw food as well. Those options can be very helpful to stay out with but can be very expensive over which is why I suggested eventually buying bulk from butchers and co-ops and places like that. Okay I'll go ahead and leave it there! Good luck to you!!!!!!
I went in to buy a fish for my fish tank. I knew what I wanted and I have knowledge of fish. I told the employee what I wanted and she insisted on knowing where the fish was going to be homed. I said I have a setup that will work for the fish. She walked away and sent another employee over to ask me the same questions. I finally gave up and walked out of the store only to be told as I'm walking away " I will sell you the fish I just need to know what tank mates it will have." The whole experience was horrible. I called the store after leaving and asked to speak to the manager. I explained what happened and he told me that they have a right to ask that question, that they have a responsibility to make sure all the animals go to a safe home. Which is quite ridiculous since there are feeder goldfish in a tank right next to everything, if I was buying those no one would bat an eye. When I tried to explain that I don't need to be told how to take of fish that if I had questions I would ask, he very condescendingly said "well what kind of tank do you have?" Which sent me over the edge. This is not something I do. I was left irate and my hands shaking. I will never shop at PetSmart again. I took my business to Petco where I left happy and was greeted with friendly people. I will actively be telling people to never shop at this store or any PetSmart again.
Oh my god, this goes out to the grooming department at this pet smart. Josie did a phenomenal job on my puppy, I know that puppies can be awful to work on because they’re so small and fidgety. But I couldn’t be happier with how he turned out!!! I didn’t really know what I wanted but Josie definitely delivered. I asked for clean feet, and it’s not really typical for dogs with his hair type but it turned out so unbelievably cute. I can’t stop gushing <3 he looks great and feels good too I’m sure. The bows and bandana were the perfect touch! He wasn’t weird or traumatized by the end of it either which was super reassuring that he was in great hands. Thank you Josie! The entire experience was super fast and easy. 5 stars on his first groom ever!!! (I included a before because he looked pretty rough)
Wonderful, helpful staff with great attitudes. You can tell they enjoy working there and as much merch as you could possibly hope for! Their shelves are always stocked.
My sweet golden retriever had a wonderful experience at the groomers here. The staff was friendly, patient, and took great care of my dog. I've used a variety of groomers and they gave my dog the best haircut he's ever had. He's been a happier dog ever since. Thank you!
