Robert DeFranco breeds puppies to help fund the foundation. However, he advertises that the puppies are vet checked, health verified, vaccinations and fecal records. Deposit is paid as donation to AFAR. Remaining balance was asked for in cash. At pick up, owner was told that records are not given and would require additional charge because he is a 501c.Owner was told 11 week old puppy was healthy. Puppy was taken to ER vet that evening with diarrhea and blood in stool. When called, he admitted that puppy was being treated for worms and coccidia. Only record of vaccination was an empty vial owner was given. He advertises puppies are microchipped but hands the syringes to owner for her personal vet to insert. Puppy one week after pickup, at new puppy vet visit was diagnosed with tapeworm, anemia and heart murmur.
