I was in desperate need to bring my dog in as she was sick for three days- because I was in the hospital myself and just got home the night before no one in this office or many other local vet were willing to be flexible. So sad that these vet only care about their schedules and not about animal welfare. You can all thank yourself as you lost a client with two pets…which would have made you money. .

I found Dr. Martin to be condescending, judgemental, and egotistical... so much that her misdiagnosis had fatal, painful consequences. We are newly returned to the area and were scared for our now recently-deceased puppy... even at 18, she was a perpetual pup. Hunter, God rest her soul, our Chihuahua, had bloody diarrhea for 3 days, and we were scared. We couldn't get a same-day appointment at our former vet, so I was calling around looking for an opening anywhere. Prime Care had a cancellation, so I was relieved that I could get Hunter in to see a professional. I should have kept calling other clinics. Dr. Laura Martin diagnosed Hunter's diarrhea as being the result of eating a hamburger 3 days earlier. Dr. Martin prescribed probiotics and antidiarrheal with strict orders to feed Hunter nothing but boiled chicken or boiled beef. We had to put Hunter down 4 days later, because she stopped eating entirely 2 days after that appointment. (As an aside, when I asked how boiling beef worked, she caustically responded, "Well how do you cook YOUR beef?!" ... um, in a frying pan like every other person I know???) Hunter had a long life and had been declining for the previous year. She just went through a stressful move and kenneling over the course of 2 months, which certainly didn't help. In any case, she likely was ready to move on regardless of Dr. Martin's diagnosis and treatment plan. But I came to Prime Care fearing for the life of my loved one, and Dr. Martin chose to mock me, instead, and accused me of not caring for my own dog, even stating that I was killing her by ignoring kidney issues that we had been dealing with for about four years. My 93-year-old grandmother went into a nursing home a couple years ago. Prior to that, she had a whiskey sour each night (Jack, only!). In the nursing home, they didn't allow it "for sake of her health." That's was the only thing she complained about for her last year of life... nearly every night. Dr. Martin seemed to have the same view as Grandma's nurses. If it's against conventional wisdom, it doesn't matter if it has worked for you for your lifetime or even if it brings you comfort at the end of your life... you're clearly in the wrong. In this case, Dr. Martin was dismissive of my concerns and focused on how Hunter's diet didn't conform with her view of healthy living. What made it worse was that she was nasty with her criticism throughout the visit. She derided me for giving Hunter some of a Five Guys burger (the presumed catalyst) despite the fact that I told her we were more concerned about getting any food into her, since she'd lost almost 20% of her body weight in 3 months. Dr. Martin scolded me for allowing Hunter to eat cat food and human leftovers, even though Hunter's last three vets all advised that the calories were more important than specific nutrition (and Hunter had been eating the same type of leftovers for all 18 years of her life). I only had Hunter's most recent lab and vet notes from May 2022, because I was kind of in a rush with this appointment. Dr. Martin claimed that without a longer history, she couldn't make a better assessment, but she refused to listen to (or maybe just to believe) a single thing I said about Hunter's medical history. Hunter had 9 different vets in 8 different states before we came to Prime Care that day. You know those commercials where 9 of 10 doctors agree? Dr. Martin is the 1.

(Dictated by Kuzco) Absolutely!! 10 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾, 5 woofs, and massive tail wags!!! Dr. Martin got down on my level to meet me and get to know me, somehow she managed to trick me into being happy to see the vet. We played for a little bit, then she talked with Mum while I sniffed around the room. Then came the shots 💉, but it was delivered with delicious paste that made me forget about the shots. The nurse and Dr. Martin made sure that Mum was in my line of sight the entire time to help keep me calm. Next thing you know we were done, easy squeezy. While we waited for some tests, one of the nurses came in and I got to pick out my very own toy...of course I went for the one with a squeaker and fluff!! Since we are new to the area we got recommendations for groomers too! Everyone was so friendly it was wonderful!! Highly recommended!!

Today was our first visit to this veterinary practice, and I am so pleased. The entire staff is friendly, helpful and professional. Our former vet retired, and after meeting with two other vets before today, and being very disappointed, I can now say that our search is over. Dr. Martin and her staff provided just what we were accustomed to with our original vet, Dr. Anita Moore. We received the same informative and thorough information that we like to get. Bailey received lots of love and treats. The warmth and generous amount of time spent with us made us feel very comfortable. Thank you!

PAWsitively Five "Woofs"! It is hard to find a good Doctor (for me or my dog!) who cares and who takes time to listen, answer your questions and explain things in a clear and unbiased manner. UNRUSHED!! Doc Martin is phenomenal, she truly cares and gives expert treatment. All of this shows as our Brittany Louise can't wait to get in the door of the office to see her! She is our friend. Thank you Doc and Staff P.S. I really admire how she works with her staff and mentors apprentices.
