They can take your dog, even if your dog has done nothing wrong. Lock them up in a cage for 10 days, force you to pay to have him back, then return your dog in horrible condition covered in urine, ticks, and an obvious disease making him swell Absolutely sickening

I respect the people that work at this place, yes it is a kill shelter, but to be honest they would not have to kill anything if people would fixed their dogs and cats instead of having litters and litters in hope of making money off the life of an animal. On top of that I think people should face jail time for allowing their dogs to run at will all over the town of Big Spring. A leash law should be in place and a hefty fine imposed if a dog is found out of its yard with out being on a leash, as well as muzzled if it contains a drop of pit bull blood. Insurance should be forced for those people that choose to own pits and pit mixes, and pit owners should be forced to keep their pits contained in their house, in a kennel or behind a secure fence at all times. No dog or cat should ever be dumped in the country and left to starve or become some one else problem. No dog off a leash should ever walk the streets or public areas including all parks, if going out of their yard all dogs must be leashed and under perfect control at all time or the owner should face fines and jail time...

My daughter wanted to donate food for cats and dogs etc. The staff was very helpful helping to carry it in. They really need food donations. The care very much for the animals in the shelter and go above and beyond trying to re home these precious animals.

I called because I found a puppy on the side of the road. I was on my way to work so I brought him. They said they were full. I asked what I should do. They said "I don't know. I guess let him go."

An owner relinquished a poorly taken care of mastiff boxer mix puppy with cherry eye. The puppy had a rescue and adopters lined up and the shelter gave her back to the owners!!
