Adopted my cat from here! Owners are the sweetest ladies you'll ever meet. They're very knowledgable about all the cats housed there and all their personalities. They go absolutely above and beyond finding the best pet for you. Facilities are very clean and you can tell they care about all the animals! Would recommend if you're looking for a pet!

I was looking to replace my female Shih Tzu who passed away. I wanted another shih Tzu and the Paws for Life had one black male, puppy, named Fritz. I scheduled a meet and greet the following day or so, and drove through a snow storm to get to Heber City. Fritz was handsome and sweet as the ladies described in his adoption photo. Fritz has a permanent home now with me.

We welcomed Max, a grey & striped American shorthair cat into our family from Paws for Life. The staff are kind, friendly, conscientious with cleaning, and very aware of suitable adoption candidates. They wanted to make sure Max was in good hands. Max is extremely affectionate and a perfect addition.

My husband and I adopted our cat from this shelter, the adoption process was very simple and everyone was honestly very sweet. We adored our cat and enjoyed every second with her. Unfortunately our cat had FELV and did not live through the first 6 months of being with us. We believe she contracted the virus from the shelter, since she did not interact with any other cats while we had her. Please be aware as you are adopting cats from PFLU that they might have this virus.

My 19 year old daughter adopted a cat. The shelter claimed he was about 2 years old. She first took him home to try to help him gain weight so he could qualify to be neutered. They thought he was stressed out around all the other animals, so not eating. They had her pay the $40 fee and agree to adopt before he got neutered. In the mean time, we asked if they could help pay for a vet because his paws were cracked and bleeding. They declined to help because she already adopted him. They claimed to have had the cat seen by a vet. My daughter recently paid to take him to a vet, who said not only is the cat much older than 2, but doesn’t gain weight because he needs all his teeth removed. Needless to say, we are very disappointed and feel taken advantage of. My daughter is a college student, and wasn’t prepared to care for an elderly cat with expensive dental work ($2000) to be done. We feel the shelter has done her and the poor cat a disservice. Once the cat switched to wet food (shelter never mentioned any issues), he has actually been able to eat without pain. We aren’t sure if the shelter just has a terrible vet giving them advice, or if they actually say anything just to get people to take their animals.

Wonderful organization. They are responsive, kind and really care about the animals! I LOVE our new dog Onyx!! The folks at the shelter were right - she is a very kind dog, that just needs a little patience, direction and love. The vet who spayed her was also fabulous - Silver Creek Veterinary. Thanks all for this special dog!
