The drs have always been compassionate towards my dogs. I’ve been going there off and on for over 15 years. Dr grossman has helped quite a few of my dogs cross over the rainbow bridge , with dignity and love. Sometimes his bedside manner is lacking towards humans but never towards his patients (the animals ). They are the only vets open on weekends and for all emergencies, big and small. I highly recommend.

Dr. Elliot and the entire office staff provided exceptional care for my English Setter's emergency visit while on vacation. Their on call emergency response was quick, genuine, informative, and precise. Dr Burkart saved my dog’s life! I almost lost my dog due to surgery cost in my area. I drove 2 hours to their clinic and it was worth it. They offer affordable surgeries and work with rescue organizations! I called everyday after the surgery to check on my dog and got feedbacks everyday. They are very busy during the day and I understand there may be delays calling me back. But all in all, I am very happy getting my dog back!

This is the vet I'll drive my cat to from 2 hours away now. Thank you for helping me feel better about my animal care than any vet in her few years alive. The way she was snuggled and hugged and loved on made me feel she was at the right place.

I called on Saturday, May 25th. I thought my dog had a blockage due to sand impaction. The lady who I spoke with over the phone sounded annoyed that I called to inquire about appointments. She kept interrupting me, and I felt like she was rushing to get me off the phone. I ended up driving 30 mins farther to Eastern Shore. Because the staff over there actually listened to my concerns and made me feel like they cared about the issue I was experiencing with my dog at the time. The reception staff at Roanoke Island Animal Clinic definitely need to be re-trained on proper etiquette and communication with their customers. It doesn't surprise me that there are other negative reviews about how terrible their reception staff is after experiencing it myself.
