Description We are a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the rescue & rehabilitation of the strays in the Bella Vista, and surrounding northwest Arkansas area. Our mission is to provide food, shelter, and medical care for the animals in need - until they can be adopted into loving homes. Our facility operates solely on the kind-hearted donations from private parties, volunteers and the surrounding community.

We had an amazingly smooth adoption process with our sweet darling, Darla. The Bella Vista facility shows they truly care about their animals as you cannot see all of them at once but can take a look through the book and they will bring them out one by one. I really thought that was unique and special since it doesn’t rile up all the other dogs. So glad we came here and so thankful to be able to give Darla her forever home!!! Thank you again to the team and I’d highly recommend stopping by!

We adopted our first dog from the shelter late last year and it was a great experience all around. They have a thorough application process to make sure that the animals go to a good home, but they did everything in their power to make the process move quickly once we met and fell in love with the dog. She was given the name Prue at the shelter though we now call her Olive. She was a stray in the Bella Vista area, but thanks to her time at the shelter she now has great social skills and has made many canine friends. At her first vet visit, we were told that she is in great health and was cared for very well before we got her. I would highly recommend checking here if you are looking for a new addition to the family!

Great place, very friendly staff, love our dog we adopted, the manager was awesome! Completely helped us through the waiting period and worked with our schedule to be able to pick him up…definitely consider this place if you consider adoption of a pet or volunteer work with a shelter.

I went to the BVAS on Sept 10th but when I got there they were already closed by 30 min. There were a couple of people working outside and asked if they could help. I told the lady what I was looking for and she described this little girl. She said she had an injury, she had been shot and that they opened the next day at 10a.m. I knew then I was coming back to get her. She is a great kitty with big personality. She has her own room where under the bed is her safe place getaway. She's afraid of everything (who could blame her) but she is slowly feeling more comfortable and her appetite is great. It's been 11 days now, she trusts us and is inspecting a little more of her new home every day always knowing she can retreat to her room any time she wants. Thank you BVAS for what you do! If you hadn't taken her in and to the vet to get the bullet out, I'm sure she wouldn't be here. Her name is Venus and we kept it that way! Update on little Miss Venus, she is growing very fast and is a little smarty cat! Loves her cookie treats!

Brought a blind cat in and they REFUSED HIM!!! The volunteers working there were afraid of him, asking if he was tame!? They are not trained technician's! A trained Animal health Technician would have taken him, doesn't matter if the animal is tamed or not, that is part of there job! Pathetic! I had to ask where there sink is so I could bath the cat because he had relieved himself in the carrier. Only one person was qualified enough to hose the carrier out for me, Thank however that guy was!
