Younger girl with black hair an wears glasses was extremely rude. I was trying to drop off a kitten I had found. She wanted proof that I lived in Ukiah an claimed I was probably from lake county an trying to drop off my animal that I didn't want anymore. I try to do a good thing an this lady was a ....... You know what. Unfortunately I did not get her name. I came back with a PG&e bill an was admitted. Here I am again greeted with attitude an rudeness. I provide my bill proving that I am indeed a Ukiah resident. She starts up with the attitude again trying to make me jump through hoops to help an animal out that I rescued from being bobcat food. I try an leave an get my license back from her and she will not give it back until I picked up the animal cage holding the kitten. This person should be fired. Worst experience ever at an animal shelter. I posted the kitten for free on FB marketplace instead.
This is a great place to volunteer. They are very flexible. After a simple orientation, you can drop in when you are available to walk dogs or interact with cats. There are many different ways to help. Would you like a hiking buddy? You can make a quick stop at the shelter and pick up a pup to take with you. Would you like the companionship of a pet but can't commit to having one full time? Stop by the shelter and bring a fur baby home for the weekend. The staff make it easy to help in any capacity. Pictured here is Marty, a very sweet and handsome boy we had over the weekend. If you're looking to cuddle, he's your man.
We got the best dog from here. We're so lucky to have found her. Staff was very kind too, made sure she was a good fit for our other dog. Her name was Sprout when we got her. She goes by Belle now.
Lovely folks there who are genuine and sincere. Animal pens are clean and they all look well fed id recommend it to anybody
I stopped by there, which turned out to be a miscommunication.I spoke to someone at the clinic not the shelter. But when I knocked the woman was pretty rude and looked at me crazy or like I was weird for even coming by or talking to her. She did tell me it was for somewhere else. Usually people that work at animal places are a lil nicer tho.
My boyfriend and I went by to try and find a dog to adopt, and we’re told they do not allow viewing the dogs in person, and if we wanted to see them we’d have to schedule an appointment online to meet just one. It seems impossible to make a connection with a dog just by seeing a photo online. When we voiced this, the person up front told us we wouldn’t be able to tell their temperament in person anyways because the shelter is too loud. This seems very counterproductive, and feels like it discourages adoption.
