These folks are friendly and offer our county a much needed service. I know they wish they could save all of the animals in their care but sometimes hard decisions have to be made for the good of them all. I want to say Thanks and I wish you the best.

Thank you so much to Kassie, Jo, and Brandon on the wonderful job they did with the adoption of my cat, Callie. They were amazing to work with. I appreciate what they do for the animals.

I think this place should go under new management, heard a lot of complaints. I feed a lot of strays in my neighborhood on the east side of laurinburg and have had to call this place a few times to see if I could get help with the not so healthy cats that come along, not to mention the kittens that get left on our doorstep and every time the person on the other end is never empathetic or helpful in any way. I’ve called other humane societies and never have I been treated with the same disrespect and rudeness. Not even our local pet store works with this shelter, they work with the neighboring counties. Its sad. Do better or get a different job.

Needs a better way to contact them. You call them, you can't get with anyone. You press a number expecting to get someone, you get routed to the director voicemail. Unlike some other places around here, you can't even message them on Facebook. How hard is it to accept messages? Need to do whatever it takes to find homes for these lovely animals. Edit: Just wish Facebook messenger was used for faster response like some shelters in the area. Quick hit messages. I heard the place has gotten better after some changes and understand doing what y'all can. Thanks for the reply below and wish all the best.

This place should be called Inhumane Society. An outside cat adopted my family and we called the shelter to see if they could help us find a home for it. The employee immediately said “well if you bring it here, we can’t promise we won’t euthanize it.” We end the call. A while later we stopped by to speak to them about adopting a dog. They said we couldn’t meet a single dog “because of COVID.” (No other shelter in the area has this “policy” and they weren’t even wearing masks so COVID who?). They were incredibly rude and mean. One employee stopped what she was doing to stare at us without speaking until I said “Can I help you?” We submitted an application, as this was the only way they said we could meet any dog. The director contacted me that we were approved. I asked if any of their dogs were cat friendly and never heard back. It’s like they don’t want these animals to be adopted!!! I pray that my animals never end up in their hands and I’m so sorry for the ones that do. This place is a shameful use of tax dollars. And these animals and interested adopters deserve better.

They work hard at saving animals. But the community needs to step up instead of going to a neighboring County to adopt. This could he a no kill shelter if only it had community support.
