I adopted three cats from All 4 the Love of Cats at the Niles PetSmart. The whole process went well. Sarah who runs the shelter is very caring and supportive. Working in the best interest of the cats. Yes, she is pretty strict about some things, like not adopting out a single kitten (the kitten needs another kitten for company) or not separating bonded pairs. Sarah will ask you about your prior pet experiences and vet care. That is because she really cares about the cats in her care.

After inquiring about a kitten in a tiny petco cage, we waited for Sarah to get back to us. A month later that poor cat is still caged in petco. She gave us hope that we could adopt her, then nothing. We would have taken her no problem. What’s the point of this rescue that won’t let people adopt??

5 of our cats have come from this rescue, they are all amazing. I commend Sarah for essentially running the rescue by herself and a few volunteers for cleaning and socialization time for the cat habitats through multiple store locations. She truly cares for the cats wellbeing and future, and will not allow them to be improperly placed into a home that does not suit them. She does not do cats as gifts to someone that is not applying for themselves. She does not do kittens as only pets. She tries not to split up bonded pairs. She does not do impulse adoptions on the same day. The process typically takes a couple days to ensure everyone in the household is ready to take on a potentially 20+ year commitment, to ensure the house is prepared for cats, and ensure the cat's paperwork for adoption is all in place. I also see others complain about the adoption fees, yet they go straight to the vet costs associated with each cat, which nowadays are always more expensive than the adoption fee itself. Sarah *does not* do this for the money, *she actually loses money* She is only in this to rescue great cats from this area that are typically on euthanasia row, or have come from awful situations. The last thing she wants to see is these cats to end up back in a bad situation like they originally came from by adopting to irresponsible people. That is why there is a application/interview process. I do recommend this rescue if you want to work with a true cat person that only cares about a cats best interests.

I adopted two of my cats from here. The adoption process was good! Albeit a little strict, I know she does it because she cares for the wellbeing of all the cats at the shelter. She genuinely means well. The only bad experience I had was when Sarah did not show up when we had scheduled an appointment and she did not show up due to not believing I would show up and did not message me, but I looked past it and have been able to adopt two wonderful cats at two separate times. She profusely did apologize. I would recommend calling her cell phone instead of texting. Please don't overlook the cats here because of a misunderstanding with Sarah. All the cats there are wonderful as well the rest of the volunteers there.

CAT LOVERS BEWARE…DO NOT adopt from this person Sarah!!!!! If I could give her a negative rating, I would!!! She makes one of the happiest things to do the most heartbreaking and miserable experience!!! My son and I had recently lost both of our sweet cats (Lucy and Ricky) within 4 months of each other due to cancers and heart issues. All we wanted to do was fill our home again with the love of a new cat. We fell in love with one sweet kitten and wanted to take him home so badly! She then proceeded to tell us we could not adopt one single cat because he was a brother to another. So we considered taking both, but she refused to see us or even let us see and hold the cats unless we took a pair. She said that we were wasting her time! She told us they were brothers, but with no proof. All she kept saying is that they were bonded…don’t let people sucker you into taking two cats that way! She didn’t care at all about the welfare of the cats. Then she proceeded to tell us that the cats were $260 a piece, when it is posted on the website that the adoption fees were $150 per cat! She vindictive and money hungry and is not at all concerned for the wellbeing of the cats!!! It’s very sad for people to use their control over something like that when an animal could have a wonderful life in a warm and loving home!

We tried to adopt a cat from here twice and I think with the way they communicate, it's just plain rude. I tried reaching out to the owner many times and she was very curt and didn't even bother listening or replying. This is after waiting for hours and sending follow-up messages. Feels like they dont want to help the cats find a forever home. So so disappointed with the way they run this shelter. Will suggest to look somewhere else to adopt a fur baby.
