Description "The Seminole Humane Society is a foster based rescue. We rescue and adopt stray animals to forever homes. We provide medical care including vaccinating, and spaying and neutering. We are no longer associated with the Seminole Animal Shelter."
I wish I could give a ZERO star rating because I would! My husband recently adopted a dog named Dave from the shelter when he brought Dave home he had a slight cough we didn't think anything of it because Dave had seen a vet while in the shelters care. turns out Dave had kennel cough! Now all 3 of our animals that we have had for years have kennel cough! My husband reached out to the shelter and the were kind enough to pay for one vet visit and meds for one of our animals.. the reason for my review is everyone needs to be very cautious and make sure to make vet appointments as soon as you adopt from this shelter. (Update 07/12/24) So apparently they didn't pay the vet bill we received the bill in the mail today after they agreed to pay it.
The facility was not clean. It looked like they just sprayed down the floors and left it all to get the urine and feces out. It stunk super bad and all the dogs were unclean. The manager/owner unsure which kept calling the employees and agitating them even when it was explained that they were super busy. It seems like if you worry about a facility you would attend the facility instead of texting and calling all the employees and interrupting their work day. I have been to this facility multiple times in the last few months and its always the same thing. The manager has no regard for the animals or the employees. No wonder why there is not enough support and volunteers. For a Human Animal Shelter the poor animals may be taken out of the weather but there is nothing humane about sitting in a dirty facility and urine burns.
Lots of sweet loving Fur babies that need forever homes and someone to love them every dog there is loving not a single mean dog staff is absolutely amazing for doing what they do stop by and find your best friend
Awful. We were trying to do the humane thing and had to wait in the heat and be given the run around about a number that we had called 4 TIMES. Given once was on a day that animals aren't picked up on, but that information was not provided when the call was made. The Animal Control "Officer", dressed in what looked to be pajamas, repeatedly told us to call the same number. Once we told them that we had called this number not 15 minutes before her speaking to us, they again had to retreat inside and validate our story. Do yourself a favor and find another shelter.
These people lack integrity. I was lied to from the minute I walked through that door. I would highly recommend saving yourself the headache and using a good reputable shelter who has compassion and care for the animals and the people adopting. If I could give a zero, I would
Refuses to take surrenders or strays won't answer phones and only accepts dogs
