I found an intact female cat at a business in downtown Mockssville that had been abandoned. Tried to do the right thing and brought her to here. Was told by the female Sheriff to take her back and dump her where I found her. So when I took her back a police officer pulled up and threatened me with animal cruelty charges and abandonment. So she told me to commit a crime,, now I do not know what to do with the cat because I have 4 large dogs that think cats are squeaky toys. No good deed goes unpunished . Absolutely ridiculous.

Karen was so helpful and nice. Answered all my questions. We now have a new family member Dobbin(formally Bill). He is getting adjusted to his new home

$5 exact cash for 1 year Rabies vaccine per dog is hard to beat! No appointment needed just walk up to front door, ring doorbell and an employee will come out and give the vaccines at your car. It was pouring rain when I went and they still gave the Rabies vaccine and filled out the paper outside. Their hours for Rabies vaccine are Tuesday- Friday 9a-3p. You do not have to live in Davie County! I went 30mins before they closed. Great experience I have been a couple times for Rabies vaccine with no issues.

Big thanks to Mocksville Animal Services! A dog escaped from his owner last week when they were taking her to the vet. The dog ended up on my family's property and she was showing up on our trail cameras for several days. After posting on Facebook and calling the vet, we found out who the owners were. Officer Straney went out to the property and set a trap in front of one of the cameras. He returned to release a raccoon that ended up in the trap, reset the trap, and then ended up catching the dog. The owners are so happy to have their pet back. Thanks Officer Straney!
